2015 Men's Australian Hockey League
The 2015 Men's Australian Hockey League was the 25th edition of the Australian Hockey League men's Field Hockey tournament. The tournament was held in the Northern Territory city of Darwin. The QLD Blades won the tournament for the ninth time after defeating the WA Thundersticks 2–1 in the final. The Tassie Tigers won the bronze medal after defeating the VIC Vikings 4–3 in the third place match. Competition format The tournament is divided into two pools, Pool A and Pool B, consisting of four teams in a round robin format. Teams then progress into either Pool C, the medal round, or Pool D, the classification round. Teams carry over points from their previous match ups, and contest teams they are yet to play. The top two teams in pools A and B progress to Pool C. The top two teams in Pool C continue to contest the Final, while the bottom two teams of Pool C play in the Third and Fourth place match. Shane Kenny (born 4 July 1947) is an Irish journalist and broadcaster who worked mainly at RTÉ Radio 1. After gaining a BA from Trinity College Dublin he studied journalism in Newcastle upon Tyne and worked there for the ''Journal'' and ''Chronicle'' from 1970 to 1973. He was a weekend newscaster on BBC North East radio (1972–3) and later in 1973 he was recruited as a reporter and presenter of ''7 Days'' on RTÉ television (1973–5) before joining RTÉ Radio, where he became a news editor in 1980, in which role he launched and was the first editor of ''Morning Ireland''. Jamie Dwyer (born 12 March 1979) is an Australian field hockey player. He currently plays for YMCC Coastal City Hockey Club in the Melville Toyota League in Perth, Western Australia. He also played for the Queensland Blades in the Australian Hockey League. He debuted for Australia as a junior player in 1995, and for the senior side in 2001. He has played over 350 matches for Australia and scored over 220 goals. Cameron Leon White (born 18 August 1983) is an Australian former international cricketer who captained the national side in Twenty20 Internationals. A powerful middle order batsman and right-arm leg-spin bowler, White made his first-class cricket debut as a teenager in the 2000–01 season for the Victoria cricket team as a bowling all-rounder. During his time with Australia, White won the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy. Kieran Govers (born 9 February 1988) is an Australian field hockey player. He plays field hockey professionally in Germany. He plays for the NSW Waratahs in the Australian Hockey League. Flynn Andrew Ogilvie (born 17 September 1993) is an Australian field hockey player, and Commonwealth Games gold medallist. Personal life Ogilvie was born in Wollongong, New South Wales.
