2015 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2015 Malaysian motorcycle Grand Prix (formally the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix) was the seventeenth (and penultimate round) of eighteen motorcycle races of the 2015 MotoGP season. It was held before a crowd of 88,832 people at the Sepang International Circuit in the Malaysian district of Sepang in Selangor on 25 October 2015. Dani Pedrosa of Honda won the 20-lap race from pole position. Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo finished second and his teammate Valentino Rossi came in third. In the junior classes, Johann Zarco won the Moto2 race on a Kalex bike and KTM's Miguel Oliveira won in Moto3. Pedrosa won the pole position by recording the fastest lap in qualifying and maintained his start line advantage going into the first corner. The Sepang District is a district located in the southern part of the state of Selangor in Malaysia. Sepang District covers an area of around 600 square kilometres, and had a population of 190,889 in the 2010 Census (excluding foreigners). 2015 Valencian Community Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2015 Valencian Community motorcycle Grand Prix was the eighteenth and final round of the 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on 8 November 2015. Background This was the last race for Bridgestone, who had been the sole tyre supplier since 2009, as the sole tyre supplier in MotoGP, before they are replaced by Michelin for 2016. It was also the last race for the ART and Forward Yamaha bikes. Pit Stop
In motorsports, a pit stop is a pause for refuelling, new tyres, repairs, mechanical adjustments, a driver change, as a penalty, or any combination of the above. These stops occur in an area called the pits, most commonly accessed via a pit lane which runs parallel to the start/finish straightaway of the track and is connected to it at each end. Along this lane is a row of garages (typically one per team or car) outside which the work is done in a ''pit box''. Pit stop work is carried out by the pit crew of up to twenty mechanics, depending on the series regulations, while the driver often waits in the vehicle (except where a driver change is involved or in motorbike racing). 2015 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2015 Australian motorcycle Grand Prix was the sixteenth round of the 2015 MotoGP season. It was held at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Phillip Island on Sunday 18 October 2015. In his 130th start, Marc Márquez achieved his 50th Grand Prix win – becoming the ninth rider to reach that mark, and the youngest to do so, at – with a final-lap pass on Jorge Lorenzo. The final podium position was taken by Andrea Iannone, despite striking a seagull during the early laps. With Valentino Rossi finishing in fourth place, Lorenzo cut the championship lead to eleven points with two races remaining. 2015 Dutch TT
The 2015 Dutch TT was the eighth round of the 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the TT Circuit Assen in Assen on 27 June 2015. In the premier class, Valentino Rossi took his first pole position since the 2014 Valencian Grand Prix. In the race, Rossi fought hard with Marc Márquez; on the final lap, the two riders made contact at the final chicane, causing Rossi to go across the gravel trap. He was able to rejoin the track and claimed his third victory of the season, and a record seventh premier class victory at Assen. Rossi finished ahead of Márquez, while teammate Jorge Lorenzo completed the podium; Rossi extended his championship lead to 10 points as a result. 2015 Argentine Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2015 Argentine Republic motorcycle Grand Prix was the third round of the 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo in Santiago del Estero on 19 April 2015. In the MotoGP class, Marc Márquez took his second pole position of the season. In the race, he started well and pulled away from the field to a maximum advantage of 4 seconds. However, Valentino Rossi closed in on Márquez, and on lap 22, immediately followed him. At Turn 5, Márquez made contact with Rossi, with Márquez's bike hitting Rossi's rear tyre. Márquez could not rejoin, and as a result, Rossi took his second win of the season. The 2015 FIM Moto3 World Championship was a part of the 67th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Álex Márquez was the reigning series champion but he did not defend his title as he joined the series' intermediate class, Moto2. Danny Kent became Great Britain's first Grand Prix motorcycle world champion since Barry Sheene in , by winning the championship at the final race of the season in Valencia. Marc VDS Racing Team rider Esteve Rabat started the season as the defending riders' champion, having won his first championship title in 2014.
