Shot Put
The shot put is a track and field event involving "putting" (throwing) a heavy spherical ball—the ''shot''—as far as possible. The shot put competition for men has been a part of the modern Olympics since their revival in 1896, and women's competition began in 1948. History Homer mentions competitions of rock throwing by soldiers during the Siege of Troy but there is no record of any dead weights being thrown in Greek competitions. The first evidence for stone- or weight-throwing events were in the Scottish Highlands, and date back to approximately the first century. In the 16th century King Henry VIII was noted for his prowess in court competitions of weight and hammer throwing. The first events resembling the modern shot put likely occurred in the Middle Ages when soldiers held competitions in which they hurled cannonballs. T33 (classification)
T33 and CP3 are disability sport classification for disability athletics. The class competes using a wheelchair. The classification is one of eight for people with cerebral palsy, and one of four for people with cerebral palsy who use a wheelchair. Athletes in this class have moderate quadriplegia, and difficulty with forward trunk movement. They also may have hypertonia, ataxia and athetosis. Wu Qing (athlete)
Wu Qing (; born March 25, 1988) is a Paralympic athlete from China competing in throwing events in the F36 cerebral palsy classification. , Wu holds F36 World Records for shot put, discus and javelin. Wu began competing in athletics in 2005. and made her international debut at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. There she won gold medals in both the women's F35-38 javelin throw and the F35-36 discus throw event. She also finished second in the women's shot put - F35-36. Mariia Pomazan (Ukrainian: Марія Олександрівна Помазан; born 15 October 1988) is a Ukrainian Paralympic athlete. She competes in throwing events in the F35 classification for athletes with cerebral palsy. , she holds Women's F35 world records for shot put and discus.
