Triple Jump
The triple jump, sometimes referred to as the hop, step and jump or the hop, skip and jump, is a track and field event, similar to the long jump. As a group, the two events are referred to as the "horizontal jumps". The competitor runs down the track and performs a hop, a bound and then a jump into the sand pit. The triple jump was inspired by the ancient Olympic Games and has been a modern Olympics event since the Games' inception in 1896. According to World Athletics rules, "the hop shall be made so that an athlete lands first on the same foot as that from which he has taken off; in the step he shall land on the other foot, from which, subsequently, the jump is performed." 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships
The 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships were a Paralympic track and field meet organized by the World Para Athletics subcommittee of the International Paralympic Committee. The event was the 7th edition of what is now known as the World Para Athletics Championships, held from 21 to 31 October 2015 at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. It featured 119 men's events and 91 women's events. The Marathon events which are traditionally part of the world championships were separated from the competition and instead held on 26 April as part of the London Marathon. Venues In January 2013 the IPC announced that Doha would hold the 2015 athletics world championships. In March 2014 the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium, a 15,000-seat venue with an eight-lane track, was confirmed as the host of the event which would take place between 19 and 28 November. The Suheim bin Hamad Stadium (), also known as Qatar SC Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Doha, Qatar. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC; german: Internationales Paralympisches Komitee) is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement. Lenine Cunha (born 4 December 1982) is a Paralympic athlete from Portugal who competes in T20 classification long jump and triple jump events. T47 is a disability sport classification for disability athletics primarily for competitors with a below elbow or wrist amputation or impairment. T47 is a classification for track events but unlike the other T40 to T46 classifications it has no equivalent F47 classification for field events. The amputee sports equivalent class is ISOD the A8 class. People in this class can have injuries as a result of over use of their remaining upper limb. Liu Fuliang
Liu Fuliang (born 16 November 1985) is a Paralympian athlete from China competing mainly in T46 classification track and field events. Liu represented his country at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where he competed in three events, the 100 metre relay and his favoured long jump and triple jump. He finished on the podium in all three events, taking the gold medal in both the jump events and was part of the Chinese relay team that took the silver medal. As well as Paralympic success, Liu dominated both the long jump and triple jump events in the T46/47 classification at the World Championships between the Games in London and Rio. Roderick Townsend-Roberts (born July 1, 1992) is an American Paralympic athlete. At the 2020 Summer Paralympics he set a high jump world record (2.15 m) and won gold in high jump, silver in long jump. Career He won the long jump and high jump events at the 2016 Rio Paralympics and 2015 Parapan American Games. T46 and F46 are disability sport classification for disability athletics. People in this class have a single below or above the elbow amputation. The amputee sports equivalent class is ISOD the A6 and A8 classes. People in this class can have injuries as a result of over use of their remaining upper limb. The classification process to be included in this class has four parts: a medical exam, observation during training, observation during competition and then being classified into this class. Definition This classification is for disability athletics. T46 is for track events and F46 is for field events.
