2015 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship was the 16th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2016 competition. Venues included the Malmö Isstadion, and Rosengårds Ishall. United States defeated Canada in the gold medal game 7–5, securing their sixth title. Finland won the bronze medal by beating Russia 4–1. Carl XVI Gustaf
Carl XVI Gustaf (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus; born 30 April 1946) is King of Sweden. He ascended the throne on the death of his grandfather, Gustaf VI Adolf, on 15 September 1973. He is the youngest child and only son of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten, and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. His father died on 26 January 1947 in an airplane crash in Denmark when Carl Gustaf was nine months old. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Natalie Spooner
Natalie Marie Spooner (born October 17, 1990) is a Canadian ice hockey player for the now defunct Toronto Furies, who played for the Canadian National women's ice hockey team from 2007 to 2008, and rejoined the program in 2010. Spooner was the first player to play for the Canadian National Women's Team, the National Women's Under-22 Team and its Under-18 Team. In 2014, Spooner became the first woman in hockey history to claim the gold medal in the Olympic Winter Games and the Clarkson Cup in the same year. Brianne Jenner
Brianne Alexandra Jenner (born May 4, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and a member of Canada's national women's hockey team, currently affiliated with the Toronto chapter of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). She made her debut for Canada at the 2010 Four Nations Cup and won a gold medal. She was also a member of the Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey program. Playing career In high school, Jenner was the Appleby College hockey team captain. Jenner played junior hockey in the Provincial Women's Hockey League (PWHL) with the Stoney Creek Sabres. Brianna Decker
Brianna Decker (born May 13, 1991) is an American women's ice hockey player who plays for the Calgary section of the PWHPA and the United States women's national ice hockey team. She won the 2012 Patty Kazmaier Award while playing for the University of Wisconsin, recognizing the best female ice hockey player in NCAA Division I play. With the Boston Pride, Decker would score the first hat trick in NWHL history on October 25, 2015. Anne Kathryn Schleper (born January 30, 1990) is an American women's ice hockey player for the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League. She played college hockey for the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program and made her debut for the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2011 IIHF Women's World Championship. Kendall Coyne Schofield (born May 25, 1992) is an American professional ice hockey player who is currently a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. With the national team, she has won six gold medals at the IIHF World Women's Championships and the gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Kacey Lee Bellamy (born April 22, 1987) is an American ice hockey defender for the Calgary section of the PWHPA, an Olympic Silver medalist, and seven-time IIHF World Women's Championship winner. She currently plays for the Boston Pride in the National Women's Hockey League and the United States women's national ice hockey team. She won the Isobel Cup with the Pride and is a two-time Clarkson Cup champion with the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. Monique Edith Lamoureux-Morando (born July 3, 1989), previously known as Monique Lamoureux-Kolls, is a former American ice hockey player, author, gender equity advocate, and co-founder of the Lamoureux Foundation. Michelle "Shelly" Picard (born May 27, 1993) is a retired American ice hockey player who played defense for the United States women's national ice hockey team. Picard also played for the Harvard Crimson and Metropolitan Riveters. She later served as deputy commissioner of the National Women's Hockey League from 2019 to 2021. Jocelyne Nicole Lamoureux-Davidson (born July 3, 1989) is a former American ice hockey player, author, gender equity advocate, and co-founder of the Lamoureux Foundation. Geneviève Lacasse (born May 5, 1989) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Montréal section of the PWHPA. She is also a member of the Canada women's national ice hockey team with whom she has won gold medals at both the Olympic Games and IIHF World Championships.
