2015 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2015 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held from 5 to 8 March 2015 in the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic. Bidding process Prague was chosen as the host of the Championships on the European Athletics council meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria in May 2012. The other candidate city was Istanbul, Turkey. Previously, Prague hosted the 1967 European Indoor Games, the forerunner of the European Athletics Indoor Championships. It was the first time since the 1978 European Athletics Championships that Prague hosted a major athletics championships. International athletics events in the Czech Republic traditionally took place away from Prague at the outdoor arena in Ostrava. That city's annual Golden Spike Ostrava meet began in 1961, and the 2011 European Athletics U23 Championships and 2007 World Youth Championships in Athletics were held in the preceding years.

Filip Mangen Ingebrigtsen (born 20 April 1993) is a Norwegian middle distance runner who represents Sandnes Idrettslag. In 2016, Ingebrigtsen became European Champion at 1500 meters during the European Championships in Amsterdam, and took bronze over the same distance at the World Championships in 2017 in London. He previously held the Norwegian 1500m record with the time 3:30.01, set at a Diamond League meet in Monaco on 20 July 2018. At the 2019 London Diamond League Ingebrigtsen finished second to Samuel Tefera in the mile. With a time of 3:49.60 Ingebrigtsen ran a national record and new personal best. Yoann Kowal (born 28 May 1987) is a French middle distance runner who specializes in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres steeplechase. Personal life Kowal is married to Marianne and has a daughter Elea. His father Daniel held the national title in the 3000 m steeplechase, and his mother Nadine was a French duathlon champion. Kowal took up athletics aged four and started competing internationally in 2009. He frequently trains in Kenya. As of 2016 he served in the French military, with the Joinville Battalion at Fontainebleau. Career Kowal won his first senior title in unusual circumstances at the 2014 European Athletics Championships in Zürich. Henrik Ingebrigtsen (born 24 February 1991) is a Norwegian middle-distance runner who competes mainly in the 1500 metres. He represented Norway at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. Charles Da'Vall Grice (born 7 November 1993), informally known as Charlie Grice, is a British middle distance athlete. Athletics career Grice started out as both a footballer, playing at county level, and an athlete, but balancing them both led to injuries and he decided to solely focus on athletics. He had a breakthrough in 2010, when he broke the English Schools' Athletics Association Championships record in the final of the 1500 metres as well as taking the title. He went on from this to win bronze at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in the 1000 metres, after coming second at the European Trials event in Russia.
