2015 Canadian Soccer League Season
The 2015 Canadian Soccer League season was the 18th since its establishment where a total of 22 teams from Ontario took part in the league. The season began on May 9, 2015, and concluded on October 25, 2015. Toronto Croatia won their sixth championship (ninth including Canadian National Soccer League titles) in a 1–0 victory over SC Waterloo in the CSL Championship final held at Warrior Field in Waterloo, Ontario. In the regular season, the Serbian White Eagles clinched their fourth regular-season title, while Milton SC won their first second division championship. The First Division saw an increase to 12 teams, while the Second Division remained the same. New additions to the first division were the return of Brantford Galaxy along with Toronto Atomic, and Scarborough SC as expansion franchises. Canadian Soccer League
The Canadian Soccer League (CSL; french: Ligue canadienne de soccer — LCS) is a semi-professional league for Canadian soccer clubs primarily located in the province of Ontario, and claims the history of the Canadian National Soccer League (CNSL). It is a Non-FIFA international football, Non-FIFA league previously sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA), but now affiliated with the Soccer Federation of Canada (SFC). As of 2022 Canadian Soccer League season, 2022, it consists of six teams all located in Ontario. The season runs from May to October, with most games played on the weekend followed by a playoff format to determine the overall champion. Toronto Atomic FC is a Canadian soccer club founded in 2013. The team is currently operating an indoor team in the Arena Premier League under the name Ukraine AC. Brantford (Canada 2021 Census, 2021 population: 104,688) is a city in Ontario, Canada, founded on the Grand River (Ontario), Grand River in Southwestern Ontario. Brampton United
Brampton City United FC is a Canadian soccer team, founded in 2002. The team plays in the Lika Supergroup Open Division. The club plays out of Victoria Park Stadium in the community of Brampton, Ontario. The Metro Lions were the second club from Scarborough, Toronto to join the Canadian Professional Soccer League in 2002. In their debut season, the team was an instant threat to the established clubs in the league finishing runners up in their division, and reaching the semi-finals in the postseason. The Lions struggled in their sophomore season, but rebounded the following season. Kiril Dimitrov ( bg, Kирил Димитров; born 21 January 1985) is a Bulgarian footballer who is currently playing with Scarborough SC in the Canadian Soccer League. Aside from being an active player he also serves as the general manager for Scarborough SC. Playing career Dimitrov began his career in 2004 with Makedonska Slava and later played with PFC Pirin Blagoevgrad and FC Septemvri Simitli. In 2007, he played in the Bulgarian A Football Group with PFC Belasitsa Petrich. He played with the club for two seasons. After Belasitsa was relegated to the Bulgarian B Professional Football Group he went overseas to Canada to sign with the Serbian White Eagles of the Canadian Soccer League.
