2015 Big Ten Men's Ice Hockey Tournament
The 2015 Big Ten Conference Men's Ice Hockey Tournament was the second tournament in conference history played between March 19 and March 21, 2015 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The winner of the tournament was the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who earned the Big Ten's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Format All six Big Ten teams participated in the tournament, which was a single-elimination format. Teams were seeded No. 1 through No. 6 according to the final regular season conference standings. In the quarterfinals, No. 3 played No. 6 and No. 4 played No. 5. In the semifinals, No. 2 played the winner of the first game and No. 1 played the winner of the second game (the teams were not reseeded). The two semifinal winners played each other in the Championship Game. The 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 2014 and ended with the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game in April 2015. This was the 68th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and the 121st year overall in which an NCAA school fielded a team. Conference realignment The only conference membership change in the 2014 offseason was the move of the Connecticut Huskies from Atlantic Hockey to Hockey East, which was already home to the UConn women's team. Dave Gust
David Gust (born February 21, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey winger who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played with the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Amateur After playing minor hockey for the Chicago Fury the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL), Gust was drafted 99th overall by the Fargo Force in the seventh round of the 2011 United States Hockey League (USHL) Entry Draft. Travis Boyd (ice Hockey)
Travis Boyd (born September 14, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey forward for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Boyd was selected in the 6th round, 177th overall, by the Washington Capitals in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Boyd played four collegiate seasons of NCAA Division I hockey with the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Big Ten Conference. With the Gophers, Boyd won a Big Ten Championship in the 2014–15 season, and was named to the Big Ten second All-Star team for that same season. Zach Hyman
Zachary Martin Hyman (born June 9, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger and author, currently playing for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Hockey Canada named him the 2011 Canadian Junior Hockey League Player of the Year. In 2013, Hyman represented Canada at the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel, where he won a gold medal. The Big Ten All-Tournament Team is an honor bestowed at the conclusion of the NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference tournament to the players judged to have performed the best during the championship game. The team is composed of three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender with additional players named in the event of a tie. Voting for the honor is conducted by the head coaches of each member team once the tournament has completed and any player regardless of their team's finish is eligible. Justin Kloos (born November 30, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey Forward. He is currently playing with Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
