2015 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2015 Atlantic 10 women's basketball tournament was played March 4–8 at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. This will be a 14 team Tournament with the addition of Davidson. The top 10 seeds received a first round bye and the top 4 seeds received a double bye. The 2015 tournament champion received an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA tournament. Seeds Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Richmond Coliseum
Richmond Coliseum is a defunct arena located in downtown Richmond, Virginia, with a capacity of 13,500 that was most often used for various large concerts. The arena opened in 1971 and the region is looking to replace the aging facility with a larger one. The arena was quietly shuttered in February 2019 while new proposed replacements are in development. Jonathan Peter Tsipis (born November 7, 1972) is the former head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball team. Career He was previously the head coach of the George Washington University women's basketball team, where he had an overall record of 92–38 in four years. The 2015 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was played between March and April 2015, with the Final Four played April 5 & 7. The regional locations, after a one-year experiment allowing tournament teams to host, returned to four neutral sites: Oklahoma City, Spokane, Greensboro and Albany. The subregionals were played 20–23 March, while the regionals were played 27–30 March. This represented a change; in the past, the rounds were played starting on a Saturday and ending on a Tuesday. In 2015, the opening rounds and regionals (but not the Final Four) were played starting on a Friday and ending on a Monday. The Final Four was played at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
