Mutaz Essa Barshim ( ar, معتز عيسى برشم, Muʿtazz ʿĪsā Baršim; born 24 June 1991) is a Qatari track and field athlete who competes in the high jump and is the current Olympic Champion (2020). He is also the current World Champion and second best jumper of all-time with a personal best of 2.43. He won gold at the 2017 World Championships in London and at the 2019 World Championships in Doha. He finished seventh at the 2009 Asian Championships, fifth at the 2009 Summer Universiade, won the silver medal the 2010 Asian Games and finished fourth at the 2013 Asian Championships.
