2014–15 Winnipeg Jets Season
The 2014–15 Winnipeg Jets season was the 16th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 25, 1997, and the fourth in Winnipeg since the franchise relocated from Atlanta following the conclusion of the 2010–11 season. Regular season On April 9, 2015, the Jets qualified for the 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs, marking the return of playoff hockey to Winnipeg for the first time since the 1996 Stanley Cup playoffs. The Jets would set a franchise record, with 99 points, finishing with a 43-26-13 record. Playoffs The Winnipeg Jets entered the playoffs as the Western Conference's second wild card. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference (french: Conférence de l'Ouest) is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. The 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs of the National Hockey League (NHL) began on April 15, 2015, and ended on June 15, 2015, with the Chicago Blackhawks defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning four games to two in the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals. Jordan Samuels-Thomas
Jordan Blaine Samuels-Thomas (born May 28, 1990) is an American National Hockey League referee and former professional ice hockey player. He was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round (203rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He signed his first NHL contract with the Buffalo Sabres following his senior season, playing six years professionally before becoming an official. Early life Samuels-Thomas was born in West Hartford, Connecticut. The 2014–15 Buffalo Sabres season was the Buffalo Sabres seasons, 45th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on May 22, 1970. 2014–15 Ottawa Senators Season
The 2014–15 Ottawa Senators season was the 23rd season of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). After an eventful regular season, the team returned to the NHL playoffs after not qualifying in the 2013–14 NHL season. Since 1996, the team has not missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons. Edward Robert Nito "Eddie" Pasquale (born November 20, 1990) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He has formerly played with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Pasquale was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior Pasquale played in the Ontario Hockey League for the Belleville Bulls for parts of both the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons. Midway through his second season in Belleville, he was traded to the Saginaw Spirit. The 2015 National Hockey League All-Star Game was an exhibition ice hockey game played on January 25, 2015. The game was held in Columbus, Ohio, for the first time, at Nationwide Arena, home of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The team captains were chosen by NHL Hockey Operations: Nick Foligno of the All-Star Game-hosting Blue Jackets served as captain for the home team, and Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks served for the away team. Team Toews won the game 17–12, as the teams and players broke a variety of All-Star Game scoring records. Columbus was originally scheduled to host the All-Star Game on January 27, 2013.
