2014–15 Western Michigan Broncos Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 Western Michigan Broncos men's basketball team represented Western Michigan University (WMU) during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncos, led by 12th year head coach Steve Hawkins, played their home games at University Arena as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). They finished the season 20–14, 10–8 in MAC play to finish in third place in the West Division. They advanced to the second round of the MAC tournament where they lost to Akron. Steve Hawkins
Stephen Greg Hawkins (born August 3, 1962) is an American college basketball coach and the former head Western Michigan Broncos men's basketball, men's basketball coach at Western Michigan University. He had previously served as the head coach at Quincy University. Background Hawkins was born in Ventura, California. Following his graduation from high school, Hawkins spent time as a high school basketball coach in the Los Angeles area at Villanova Preparatory School and St. Bonaventure High School during the early 1980s. During this time he worked as an assistant at UCLA basketball camps, serving as chauffeur for legendary Bruins coach John Wooden. While the two were stuck in traffic, they were able to talk basketball. Jenny Craig Pavilion
Jenny Craig Pavilion (JCP) is a 5,100 seat, multi-purpose arena, built in 2000 in San Diego, California, on the campus of the University of San Diego. It was named for weight-loss entrepreneur Jenny Craig. The Pavilion is sometimes affectionately known as the "Slim Gym", a punning reference to the weight-loss program founded by its namesake. It is the home of the University of San Diego Toreros men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams. Besides basketball, the Jenny Craig Pavilion is also used for many other campus and community events and concerts. The 2014–15 San Diego Toreros men's basketball team represented the University of San Diego during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Bill Grier's eighth season at San Diego. The Toreros competed in the West Coast Conference and played their home games at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. They finished the season 15–16, 8–10 in WCC play to finish in fifth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WCC tournament to Pepperdine. On March 16, head coach Bill Grier was fired. WMYD
WMYD (channel 20) is an independent television station in Detroit, Michigan, United States. It is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV (channel 7). Both stations share studios at Broadcast House on 10 Mile Road in Southfield, while WMYD's transmitter is located on Eight Mile Road in Oak Park. Athletics Center O'rena is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Auburn Hills, Michigan. It is home to the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball teams.
