2014–15 St. Louis Blues Season
The 2014–15 St. Louis Blues season was the 48th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 5, 1967. Off-season Coach Ken Hitchcock was extended through this season on May 7, 2014, as were Associate Coach Brad Shaw and Assistant Coach Ray Bennett. Assistant Coach Gary Shaw and Goaltending Coach Corey Hirsch were not retained. Kirk Muller, 48, was named assistant coach by General Manager Doug Armstrong on May 13, 2014. Muller was formerly head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes in parts of the last three seasons. Goaltender Brian Elliott re-signed for a three-year extension on May 19, 2014, for $7.5 million. He will team with Jake Allen. Ryan Miller will become an unrestricted free agent in July. The Blues on May 27, replaced their unretained goaltending coach with Jim Corsi, formerly goaltending coach of the last 16 seasons with the Buffalo Sabres. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference (french: Conférence de l'Ouest) is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. The names of conferences and divisions were changed in 1993 to reflect their geographic locations. Niklas Lundström
Niklas Lundström (born 10 January 1993) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for AIK in the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). Lundström made his professional debut in Sweden with AIK men's elite team of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Lundström has also played in Sweden's national junior ice hockey team, both the under-16 and under-17 respective teams. Playing career Lundström played his first Elitserien game on 28 December 2010, which was against HV71. He replaced Björn Bjurling in the net after Bjurling had allowed three goals in the game's first 13 minutes. However, AIK lost the game 8–2. Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. The Sabres compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. Jim Corsi (ice Hockey)
James Corsi (born June 19, 1954) is a Canadian-Italian former professional ice hockey goaltender and the current goaltending coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was previously the goaltender coach of the St. Louis Blues and the Buffalo Sabres. Before beginning his hockey career, Corsi also played soccer at the professional level as a forward in the North American Soccer League for the Montreal Olympique. The following season he played in the National Soccer League with the Quebec Selects. Ryan Miller
Ryan Dean Miller (born July 17, 1980) is an American former ice hockey goaltender who played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) mostly for the Buffalo Sabres. Miller was drafted 138th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. In 2010, he won the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goaltender. On February 17, 2019, Miller became the winningest American-born goaltender in NHL history, surpassing John Vanbiesbrouck. He was selected to play for the United States in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver as the team's starting goaltender. Jake Allen (born August 7, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). Allen was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft with the 34th overall pick. Allen won the Stanley Cup with the Blues in 2019. Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes (colloquially known as the Canes) are a professional ice hockey team based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Kirk Muller
Kirk Christopher Muller (born February 8, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger who played in the National Hockey League for 19 seasons from 1984–85 until 2002–03. He was also the head coach of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes from 2011 to 2014. He was an associate coach with the Montreal Canadiens from 2016 to 2021, where he previously served as assistant coach from 2006 to 2011. Playing career Muller started his junior career with the Kingston Canadians of the Ontario Hockey League, but his most successful junior seasons were with the Guelph Platers. Corey Hirsch (born July 1, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender, currently working for Sportsnet as a colour commentator on Vancouver Canucks radio broadcasts.
