2014–15 Reading F.C. Season
The 2014–15 season is Reading Football Club's second season in the Championship following the side's relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2012–13 season. The season began with Nigel Adkins as manager; he was replaced by Steve Clarke in December. Season review Pre-season On 6 May, Reading announced that five players would be leaving upon the expiry of their contracts. Those departing were Stuart Taylor, Kaspars Gorkšs, Wayne Bridge, Mikele Leigertwood and club captain Jobi McAnuff. Youngsters Lawson D'Ath, Nick Arnold, Gozie Ugwu, Matt Partridge and Shepherd Murombedzi were also released whilst contract talks were taking place with Michael Hector, Jake Taylor and 18 other youth players. On 30 May youngsters Michael Hector and Jake Taylor signed new two-year contracts with the option of a third. Nigel Adkins
Nigel Howard Adkins (born 11 March 1965) is an English professional football manager and former player and physiotherapist. Adkins played as a goalkeeper for Tranmere Rovers and Wigan Athletic. He finished his playing career and began his managerial career at Welsh club Bangor City before spells at Scunthorpe United (where he had previously been the club physiotherapist) and Southampton, where he led both clubs to promotion. His tenure with the latter was noted for taking ''the Saints'' from League One to the Premier League in successive seasons. Playing career Adkins began his career at Liverpool, but was released without playing a first team game. In 1983, he joined Tranmere Rovers and made 86 league appearances in three years. In 1986, he transferred to Wigan Athletic, the club where he spent the majority of his career, playing 155 league games between 1986 and 1993. Anton Zingarevich
Anton Zingarevich (Russian: Антон Зингаревич) is a Russian businessman best known for being the former owner of Reading Football Club, who play in the English Championship. Zingarevich's bid to take over the club was announced in January 2012, and he formally purchased the club on 29 May 2012. Since then, Zingarevich has had minimum interest in the running of the club, however did make the decision to sack manager Brian McDermott, and the subsequent employment of Nigel Adkins. John Madejski
Sir John Robert Madejski, (; born Robert John Hurst; 28 April 1941) is an English businessman, with commercial interests spanning property, broadcast media, hotels, restaurants, publishing and football. He changed his name when his stepfather, a Polish airman during World War II, returned to England to marry his mother. Jake William Trevor Taylor (born 1 December 1991) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for National League club Eastleigh. Born in England, he has represented Wales internationally. Michael Hector
Michael Anthony James Hector (born 19 July 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Charlton Athletic. Born in England, he represents the Jamaica national team. Hector began his career in the youth teams at Millwall and Thurrock before moving to Reading in 2009 where he joined the Academy. Matt Partridge
Matthew Nicholas Partridge (born 7 November 1993) is an English football defender who plays for National League South side Hungerford Town. Career Partridge started his career in the youth system at Reading F.C. Progressing through the academy as under-18's captain, he went on to sign a professional one-year contract in July 2012. Gozie Ugwu
Chigozie Eze Ugwu (born 22 April 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a forward. He made his debut in the Football League in 2012, and his debut in the Scottish Professional Football League in 2014. Club career Reading Ugwu was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire. Nicholas Samuel Arnold (born 3 July 1993) is an English footballer who plays as a right-back for National League South side Eastbourne Borough. He made his debut in the Football League in 2013. Lawson Marc D'Ath (born 24 December 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Banbury United. Jobi McAnuff
Joel Joshua Frederick Melvin "Jobi" McAnuff (born 9 November 1981) is a former footballer. He was predominantly a winger but he has also played as an occasional central midfielder. Since his retirement he has worked as a Pundit. He began his career at Wimbledon, making over 100 appearances for the club before brief spells at West Ham United and Cardiff City. Mikele Leigertwood
Mikele Benjamin Leigertwood (born 12 November 1982) is a former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder.
