2014–15 Oldham Athletic A.F.C. Season
The 2014–15 season is Oldham Athletic's 18th consecutive season in the third division of the English football league system and Lee Johnson's second full season as manager of the club. A strong ten match unbeaten run at the end of the 2013–14 season gave Oldham a platform on which to build for the new season as building work literally continued on the new North Stand. Six of the first team squad who finished the 2013–14 season left the club after their contracts' expired: Jonathan Grounds, James Wesolowski, Terry Dunfield, Anton Rodgers, Charlie MacDonald and Kirk Millar. The club captain Korey Smith was sold to Bristol City. In Smith's place, Johnson signed midfielders Liam Kelly from Bristol City and Mike Jones from Crawley Town. Oldham Athletic A
Oldham is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, amid the Pennines and between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale and northeast of Manchester. It is the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, which had a population of 237,110 in 2019. Within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire, and with little early history to speak of, Oldham rose to prominence in the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture. Brian Wilson (footballer, Born 1983)
Brian Jason Wilson (born 9 May 1983) is an English former footballer who played as a defender. Career Stoke City Wilson, born in Manchester, England, began his career at Stoke City. Wilson, who could play as a right-sided defender or midfielder, had made a handful of first-team appearances, coming through the youth-team ranks at the Britannia Stadium. Cheltenham Town On 13 December 2003, he was loaned to Cheltenham Town on a one-month deal in order to gain experience of first team football. The loan deal was then extended for a further two months in January 2004. Crawley () is a large town and borough in West Sussex, England. It is south of London, north of Brighton and Hove, and north-east of the county town of Chichester. Michael David Jones (born 15 August 1987) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre midfielder for Chesterfield. Jones attended St Anne’s Primary school in Rock Ferry and later St John Plessington Catholic High School. As a child Jones was an avid Tranmere Rovers fan. Liam Kelly (footballer, Born 1990)
Liam Mark Kelly (born 10 February 1990) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for EFL Championship club Coventry City. As a youth player Kelly played for Milton Keynes Dons, but did not make a professional appearance before leaving in 2008. Following his departure he moved to Scotland to play for Kilmarnock where he stayed for 4 seasons until a transfer to EFL Championship club Bristol City. Kelly struggled with injury in Bristol, and only managed 21 appearances in two years with the team before moving to Oldham Athletic. He was made captain at Oldham and played there for two years until July 2016 when Leyton Orient made him their new club record signing. Kirk Steven Millar (born 7 July 1992) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays for NIFL Premiership side Linfield. Charles Lea MacDonald (born 13 February 1981) is an English footballer who plays for Barking. Football career Early career MacDonald played for the Millwall youth team before joining Charlton Athletic as a trainee, turning professional in August 1998.
