The 2014–15 Melbourne City FC season was the club's fifth season since its establishment in 2009, and its first season under the "Melbourne City" moniker, after being taken over and rebranded by Manchester City. The club participated in the A-League for the fifth time and the FFA Cup for the first time. Melbourne City FC
Melbourne City Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in the south–eastern Melbourne suburb of Cranbourne East, that plays in the A-League, the top level of Australian soccer, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues (APL). Founded in 2009 as Melbourne Heart, the club competed under that name from its inaugural 2010–11 season until they were rebranded in mid-2014 by the City Football Group (CFG), in partnership with Holding M.S. Australia. In August 2015, City Football Group bought out the Holding M.S. Australia consortium to have 100% ownership of the club. Since forming in 2009, Melbourne City has claimed two A-League Men premierships and one championship, as well as one FFA Cup title (in 2016). Rob Wielaert
Robert Wielaert (, born 29 December 1978) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Club career Career in the Netherlands (1997–2013) Wielaert was born in Emmeloord, Flevoland and made his debut in professional football with PSV Eindhoven in the 1997–98 season. He also played for FC Den Bosch and NEC before joining FC Twente. During his FC Twente period he was the captain of the team. During the 2009 January transfer period he went to Ajax for a transfer fee of 3 million. However, he lost his starting position and was sent on loan to Roda JC at the start of the 2010–11 season. Paulo Retre (born 4 March 1993) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Indian Super League club Goa. Jason Hoffman (born 28 January 1989) is an Australian association football player who plays as a right back for the Newcastle Jets in the A-League.Jason is the most capped player in Newcastle Jets History. Damien Duff
Damien Anthony Duff (born 2 March 1979) is an Irish professional football manager and former player who played predominantly as a winger. He has been the manager of League of Ireland club Shelbourne F.C. since November 2021. He began his professional playing career with Blackburn Rovers, with whom he won the Football League Cup, and in 2003 was signed for £17 million by Chelsea, where he won two Premier League titles and another League Cup. Massimo Murdocca (born 2 September 1984) is an Australian professional Association football, soccer player who plays as a Right midfielder, right or central midfielder for National Premier Leagues club Nunawading City FC.
