The 2014–15 Long Beach State 49ers men's basketball team represented California State University, Long Beach during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 49ers were led by eighth year head coach Dan Monson and played their home games at Walter Pyramid. They were members of the Big West Conference. They finished the season 16–17, 10–6 in Big West play to finish in fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament, Big West tournament to Hawaii. Dan Monson
Daniel Lloyd Monson (born October 6, 1961) is an American college basketball coach serving as the head coach at Long Beach State since April 2007. Previously he was head coach at Minnesota for over seven seasons (1999–2006), reaching postseason play five times. Before coaching the Gophers, he was the head coach at Gonzaga for two seasons, leading the Zags on an improbable run to the Elite Eight during his last season. Early years Monson is the son of college basketball coach Don Monson, and spent most of his early years in eastern Washington, where his father was a successful high school head coach in Cheney and Pasco for 18 seasons. At age 14, the family moved from Pasco to East Lansing, Michigan, where Don was an assistant coach for Jud Heathcote at Michigan State for two seasons. 2014–15 BYU Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was head coach Dave Rose (basketball coach), Dave Rose's tenth season at BYU and the Cougars fourth season in the West Coast Conference. The Cougars once again played their home games at the Marriott Center. They finished the season 25–10, 13–5 in WCC play to finish in a tie for second place. They advanced to the championship game of the 2015 West Coast Conference men's basketball tournament, WCC tournament where they lost to Gonzaga. They received an at-large bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament where they lost in the First Four to Ole Miss.
