2014–15 KK Crvena Zvezda Season
The 2014–15 season is the Crvena zvezda 70th season in the existence of the club. The team played in the Basketball League of Serbia, in the Adriatic League and in the Euroleague. Overview In the summer of 2014, Red Star signed Nikola Kalinić and Stefan Jović from Radnički Kragujevac, NBA prospect Nemanja Dangubić, center Maik Zirbes and finalized a huge signing of point guard Marcus Williams. In season 2014–15, the club participated in EuroLeague, winning 6 out of 10 games in regular season, reaching Top 16 and seeing its average home attendance rising to 14483. In Adriatic league, it set a new record of 20 consecutive victories, ending league competition with score 24–2, losing only to Krka and Partizan. In the playoffs, Zvezda triumphed over Partizan 3–1 in the semifinals, and 3–1 over Cedevita Zagreb in the finals, winning its first trophy in this competition and securing a place in Euroleague in the 2015–2016 season. Nebojša Čović
Nebojša Čović ( sr-Cyrl, Небојша Човић; 2 July 1958) is a Serbian businessman, basketball executive, and politician. Since 2011, he has been serving as the president of Crvena zvezda mts Belgrade. Early years and education Čović was born in Belgrade, PR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia, and graduated from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In 2000, he obtained his PhD at the same university. Political career In 1992, as a member of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), 34-year-old Čović started his climb up the political ladder with a position of executive board vice-president in charge of economy and finances at the Belgrade city assembly. Marcus Darrell Williams (born December 3, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. He played with numerous teams across Europe and Asia. Standing at , he plays the point guard position. He was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2006 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets. Prior to becoming professional player, he played college basketball for the University of Connecticut (UConn). High school and college Williams attended and played for Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California for his 9th, 10th, and 11th years, and transferred to Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Virginia) for his 12th year (2002–2003). Marko Tejić ( sr-cyr, Марко Тејић; born 4 August 1995) is a Serbian professional basketball player for Zlatibor of the Basketball League of Serbia and the Second ABA League. Charles T. Jenkins ( sr-cyrl, Чарлс Т. Џенкинс; born February 28, 1989) is an American-born naturalized Serbian professional basketball player for FMP Meridian of the ABA League. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 2011 NBA draft after finishing his four-year college career with the Hofstra Pride. In addition to being a citizen of the United States, Jenkins also has Serbian citizenship. While attending Hempstead, New York's Hofstra University, Jenkins, a guard for the Hofstra Pride men's basketball team, had already amassed 1,767 points, 440 rebounds, 331 assists and 156 steals through his first three seasons. Nebojša "Neša" Ilić ( sr-cyr, Небојша "Неша" Илић; born 26 February 1968) is a Serbian basketball executive and former player. He is currently serving as the team manager for Crvena zvezda and the Serbia national basketball team. Playing career Crvena zvezda (1985–1993, 1995–1997) Ilić spent most of his professional career in his hometown-based team Crvena zvezda. Ilić holds the Yugoslav Basketball League record for points in one game. On November 21, 1992, in a game against Vojvodina, he scored 71 points and set the league record. Saša Kosović ( sr-cyr, Saša Kosović; born July 18, 1979) is a Serbian–Bosnian professional basketball coach and former player. He was an assistant coach for Crvena zvezda between 2011 and 2022. Early life Kosović was born in Sarajevo, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia to a Bosnian-Serb family. He started to train basketball at age 7 for his hometown team Bosna. The Radivoj Korać Cup ( sr, Куп Радивоја Кораћа / Kup Radivoja Koraća) is the men's national basketball cup of Serbia. It is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia and is named after a Serbian basketball legend and FIBA Hall of Fame and Basketball Hall of Fame member Radivoj Korać.
