The 2014–15 Gamma Ethniki was the 32nd season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. It started on 14 September 2014 and ended on 17 May 2015. 61 teams were separated into four groups, according to geographical criteria. Thermaikos and A.O. The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into ''North'' and ''South'' groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed ''Football League 2''. From season 2013–14, the football League 2 is merged by fourth division championship (Delta Ethniki) and renamed again Gamma Ethniki. Chalastra ( el, Χαλάστρα) is a town and former municipality in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. Before 1926, it was known as Κουλουκιά - ''Kouloukia'' ( bg, Кулакия - ''Kulakiya''). Pikrolimni ( el, Πικρολίμνη) is a former municipality in the Kilkis regional unit, Greece. Since the Kallikratis Plan for local government reform was implemented in 2011, Pikrolimni is administrated as part and constitutes a municipal unit of the municipality of Kilkis. The 2013–14 Football League is the second division of the Greek professional football system and the fourth season under the name Football League after previously being known as ''Beta Ethniki''. This is the first season after 1982–83 that the league has more than one groups. The groups are created based on geographical criteria. North Group In the north group, as well as in the south group, the bottom three teams are relegated. None of the teams will be promoted directly.
