2014–15 Big Bash League Season
The 2014–15 Big Bash League season or BBL, 04 was the fourth season of the Big Bash League (BBL), the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia. The fourth edition ran from 18 December 2014 to 28 January 2015. The league ran two weeks longer as compared to the previous season. The opening match of the 2014–15 Big Bash League was played between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars on 18 December at the Adelaide Oval. The format of fourth season is same as previous season. A total of 35 matches will be played during the Big Bash 2014–15 season. The Perth Scorchers won back-to-back titles by defeating the Sydney Sixers by 4 wickets on the last ball of the match. The final was also the final match of Brett Lee's career. It was hosted at Canberra's Manuka Oval. Cricket Australia (CA), formerly known as the Australian Cricket Board (ACB), is the governing body for professional and amateur cricket in Australia. Travis Michael Head (born 29 December 1993) is an Australian international cricketer. He is contracted to South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers for domestic matches. Craig Joseph Simmons (born 1 December 1982) is an Australian former professional cricketer. He played domestically for Western Australia, New South Wales, Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers. At grade cricket level, he plays for Rockingham-Mandurah in the WACA district competition, having previously played for Fremantle in WACA district matches and Gordon in Sydney Grade Cricket matches. Chadd Sayers
Chadd James Sayers (born 31 August 1987) is a former Australian cricketer from South Australia. After spending several years in the South Australian Grade Cricket League as one of the best pace bowlers in the state, Sayers began playing first-class cricket for South Australia in the Sheffield Shield in 2011. He played matches for Australia A from 2013, and played his only Test for Australia in the final Test of the 2017–18 tour of South Africa at Johannesburg, after years of near misses. Alex Ross (cricketer)
Alexander Ian Ross (born 17 April 1992) is an Australian cricketer. The son of a cricket coach, Ross started playing domestic cricket for South Australia in 2012, having moved to the state in 2009 with his father. He began to rise to prominence in the 2014–15 season when, after improved form in both first-class and List A cricket, he began playing for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. Gary Putland (born 10 February 1986) is an Australian professional cricketer. Ben Laughlin (born 3 October 1982) is an Australian cricketer. He bowls right-arm fast-medium, mainly playing Twenty20 cricket rather than longer formats of the game. He currently plays for the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL) (Not in BBL12 in the 2022/23 season.)
