2014 Women's Six Nations Championship
The 2014 Women's Six Nations Championship, also known as the 2014 RBS Women's Six Nations due to the tournament's sponsorship by the Royal Bank of Scotland, was the 13th series of the Women's Six Nations Championship, an annual women's rugby union competition between six European rugby union national teams. Matches were held in February and March 2014, on the same weekends as the men's tournament, if not always the same day. The championship was contested by England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. Emily Scarratt
Emily Scarratt (born 8 February 1990) is an English rugby union player. She currently plays centre and fullback for Loughborough Lightning and for England. She is also a qualified teacher. Club career Scarratt played for Leicester Forest before moving to Lichfield. In 2018 she joined Loughborough Lightning. International career Scarratt first played for England in 2008, scoring 12 tries in 12 games and earning comparisons to Brian O'Driscoll. In 2009 she helped England to victory in the 2009 Women's Six Nations Championship and was joint top try scorer with teammate Fiona Pocock. As England went on to win the next three Six Nations Championships, Scarratt again achieved top try scorer in 2010 and top point scorer in 2011. Claire Hodnett
Claire Hodnett is an English rugby union referee and solicitor. She was the first woman to be appointed to the Rugby Football Union's national panel of referees and was the first woman to be a TMO at a men's rugby premiership game. Hodnett was born in Shrewsbury. She played rugby at university level but stopped after having to have two knee operations due to weight issues. She became interested in becoming a referee after seeing a female referee at her local rugby club. In 2014, she became the first woman to be appointed to the Rugby Football Union's national panel of referees. Jenny Murphy (born May 30, 1989) is a female rugby union player for . She was a member of the Ireland's 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup squad. She also played at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow, Russia. As a child Murphy played Gaelic football and soccer. She played with Ballymore Eustace GAA during her crucial player development years but in 2001 signed a controversial transfer to Kilcullen GAA. Despite this she is still regarded as a local treasure of Ballymore and notably in their top five best athletes. At the start of the 2018/19 season, Murphy started coaching the inaugural Naas RFC Women's team alongside Leinster and Ireland U20's player Adam Coyle. Nora Stapleton is a former Ireland women's rugby union international. Stapleton represented Ireland at the 2010, 2014 and 2017 Women's Rugby World Cups.
