The 2014 Women's EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship - Division II was a lower division of EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship, that was played on January 24–26, 2014 in Šiauliai, Lithuania. The winner and runner up got promoted to 2016 Women's EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship, while the last place holder got relegated to 2016 Women's EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship - Division III. Šiauliai (; bat-smg, Šiaulē; german: Schaulen, ) is the fourth largest city in Lithuania, with a population of 107,086. From 1994 to 2010 it was the capital of Šiauliai County. Šiauliai Arena
Šiauliai Arena is the largest arena in Šiauliai, Lithuania. It generally hosts basketball games as well as concerts. The basketball club BC Šiauliai, which currently competes in the domestic LKL and ULEB Cup, uses the facility for all of its European and LKL home fixtures. It opened on July 25, 2007. The arena had hosted the Eurobasket 2011 Group B matches from 31 August 2011 to 5 September 2011. In 2013 Šiauliai Arena hosted Davis Cup matches. Building Holographic glass shining in the sun on the outside throughout four out of five floors makes the arena stand out from the other buildings. The Šiauliai Arena is capable to accommodate 7,400 people during the concerts, while it features 5,700 seats for basketball games. EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship
The EuroHockey Nations Championships are a European indoor field hockey competition organized by the European Hockey Federation (EHF). The tournament was started in 1974 for both men's competition and the women's competition. In the men's competition, Germany is the most successful team, having won the tournament 12 times out of 13 between 1974 and 2008. For women, Germany is also the most successful team, having won all titles but one between 1974 and 2008. The only national team beside Germany to win the men's competition between 1974 and 2008 is Russia, having done so in 2008 by defeating Germany in the gold medal game. The only team beside Germany to win the women's competition between 1974 and 2008 is England, having done so in 1996 by defeating Germany in the gold medal game. The 2016 Women's EuroHockey Indoor Championship was the 17th edition of the Women's EuroHockey Indoor Championship, the biennial international indoor hockey championship of Europe for women organized by the European Hockey Federation.. The Women's EuroHockey Indoor Championship II, formerly known as the Women's EuroHockey Indoor Nations Trophy, is an international women's indoor hockey competition organized by the European Hockey Federation. It is the second level of women's European indoor hockey championships. The tournament is part of the EuroHockey Indoor Championships and is the second level in the women's competition. The two first ranked teams qualify for the next EuroHockey Indoor Championship and are replaced by the two lowest-ranked teams from that tournament. The lowest two teams each year are relegated to the EuroHockey Indoor Championship III and replaced by the highest two teams from that competition.
