2014 Women's Challenge Cup
The 2014 Women's Challenge Cup was an English rugby league knockout tournament competed for during the summer of 2014. The Challenge Cup was won by Thatto Heath St Helens who beat Bradford Thunderbirds 32–24 in the final. The Challenge Shield was won by Fetherstone Rovers who beat Stanningley 64–14 in the final. Both finals took place on 3 August 2014 at the Tetley's Stadium, Dewsbury. The Women's Challenge Cup is a rugby league knockout competition organised by the Rugby Football League. The competition started in 2012. History 2012–2016: Foundations The Women's Challenge Cup was set up in 2012 to run alongside the men's competition to give women's rugby teams more competitive games and to give the sport a bigger profile by attaching it to the Challenge Cup. Most teams in the first few years were community clubs and had no links to professional men's clubs. Tara Jones
Tara Jones is an English rugby league player and referee. She is the starting hooker for St Helens and the England national team. In both disciplines, her career took off in 2018, when she captained St Helens in their debut women's Super League and became the first female men's Super League match official. Early years Tara Jones moved to Warrington as a child, taking up rugby at Crosfields Amateur Rugby League Football Club with her brother. Emily Rudge is a British rugby league player who plays for St Helens Women in the Women's Super League. She plays at . Born in Warrington Rudge attended Cardinal Newman High School and first played rugby league for a local Warrington club before joining Thatto Heath Crusaders. While at Thatto Heath she was first selected for the England women's national rugby league team in 2008, aged 16. Lois Forsell
Lois Forsell (born 26 July 1991) is a retired English international rugby league footballer who played as a for Leeds Rhinos Women in the Women's Super League. Forsell has also played for Bradford Bulls Women and Hunslet at club level, and has also represented Yorkshire. Playing career Forsell joined Hunslet Ladies (then known as Middleton) before moving to Bradford Bulls in 2012. The British Army Rugby League team is the official rugby league team representing the British Army. The team was founded in 1994 when the Army first recognised rugby league as an official sport and lifted a ban on it. The new team was able to play in the Challenge Cup. Crown Flatt, currently known as the Tetley's Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is a rugby league stadium in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, England. It is the home of the Dewsbury Rams, who play in the Championship. The ground occupies the site of the former Shaw Cross Colliery, which closed in August 1968. Featherstone Rovers are a women's rugby league club from Featherstone, West Yorkshire, England, who play in Group 2 of the RFL Women's Super League. They play their home games at Post Office Road which is also home to the Featherstone Rovers men's team.
