2014 West Coast Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2014 West Coast Conference women's basketball tournament was held March 6–11, 2014, at Orleans Arena in the Las Vegas Valley community of Paradise, Nevada. This was the sixth consecutive year the WCC Tournament took place in Vegas after the WCC and the Orleans Hotel and Casino, which operates the arena, reached a 3-year extension to keep the tournament in Vegas through 2016. Format With 2010–13 NCAA conference realignment#WCC, the addition of the University of the Pacific (United States), University of the Pacific, bringing the WCC to 10 members, the conference adopted a more traditional tournament format. Under the new format, the top 6 seeds receive a bye out of the first round while the 7 seed plays the 10 seed and the 8 seed plays the 9 seed. The first round begins on a Thursday. Orleans Arena
Orleans Arena is a 9,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Paradise, Nevada, in the Las Vegas Valley. It is located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino and is operated by Coast Casinos, a subsidiary of Boyd Gaming Corporation. The arena is the home to the Vegas Rollers of World TeamTennis since 2019. It is also an occasional home for the UNLV Rebels basketball team when the Thomas & Mack Center is in use. The arena was the home of the Las Vegas Wranglers ice hockey team from 2003 to 2014, the Las Vegas Gladiators arena football team in 2007, as well as the Las Vegas Sin women's football team. 2013–14 San Diego Toreros Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 San Diego Toreros women's basketball team represented the University of San Diego in the 2013–14 college basketball season. The Toreros, members of the West Coast Conference, were led by head coach Cindy Fisher, in her 9th season at the school. The Toreros played their home games at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on the university campus in San Diego, California. The Toreros would finish tied for fourth in the conference and participate in the WNIT. The Toreros ended the season 24–9. ''The Spokesman-Review'' is a daily broadsheet newspaper based in Spokane, Washington, the city's sole remaining daily publication. BYU Radio is a talk radio station run by Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Operating at Sirius XM channel 143 (and in northern Utah on 107.9 KUMT and 89.1-2 KBYU-HD2), it is known on-air as BYU Radio. David Braxton Flemming (born May 31, 1976) is an American sportscaster who has been a play-by-play announcer for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball since 2003. Flemming also calls college football, college basketball, major league baseball, and golf on ESPN. Blaine Fowler is a college football and men's college basketball sports analyst in the Mountain West Conference for NBC Sports Network basketball broadcasts. The 2013–14 Pepperdine Waves women's basketball team represented Pepperdine University in the 2013–14 college basketball season. The Waves, members of the West Coast Conference, were led by new head coach Ryan Weisenberg.
