2014 UTSA Roadrunners Football Team
The 2014 UTSA Roadrunners football team represented the University of Texas at San Antonio in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was the fourth season for football at UTSA and their second as members of Conference USA in the West Division. Larry Coker returned as the team's head coach for a fourth season. The Roadrunners played their home games at the Alamodome. They finished the season 4–8, 3–5 in C-USA play to finish in fourth place in the West Division. Larry Coker
Larry Edward Coker (born June 23, 1948) is a former American football coach and player. He previously served as the head coach of the University of Miami and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Coker's 2001 Miami Hurricanes football team, 2001 Miami team was named the consensus College football national championships in NCAA Division I FBS, national champion after an undefeated season that culminated with a victory in the 2002 Rose Bowl, Rose Bowl over 2001 Nebraska Cornhuskers football team, Nebraska. In the process of winning the championship, Coker became the third head coach since 1948 to win the national championship in his first season. John O'Quinn Field at TDECU Stadium is an American football stadium on the campus of the University of Houston. The stadium serves as the home of the Houston Cougars football team, which represents the University of Houston in collegiate football and the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. 2014 Houston Cougars Football Team
The 2014 Houston Cougars football team represented the University of Houston in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was the 67th year of season play for Houston. The season was the second for the Cougars as a member of the American Athletic Conference and their first playing in their new stadium, TDECU Stadium in Houston. They finished the season 8–5, 5–3 in AAC play to finish in a tie for fourth place. They were invited to the Armed Forces Bowl where they defeated Pittsburgh. On December 8, head coach Tony Levine was fired. He finished with a record of 21–17 three seasons. Defensive coordinator David Gibbs led the Cougars in the Armed Forces Bowl. The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers.
