2014 Seattle Reign FC Season
The 2014 Seattle Reign FC season is the club's second season of play and their second season in the National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's soccer in the United States. Review and events Preseason Following an inaugural 2013 season that saw the team finish 7th out of 8 teams, the roster was significantly overhauled by Head Coach and GM Laura Harvey, with only 9 players returning for the 2014 season. In November, the team acquired US National team forward Sydney Leroux in a trade with the Boston Breakers. Two days later, they signed Scottish international Kim Little — who had previously played for Harvey at Arsenal — after acquiring her NWSL rights in a trade with the Washington Spirit. Seattle Reign FC
OL Reign is an American professional women's soccer team based in Seattle, Washington. Founded by Bill and Teresa Predmore in 2012 as Seattle Reign FC, it was one of eight inaugural members of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). In 2020, OL Groupe, the parent company of French clubs Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, became the team's majority owner and rebranded to its current name, badge, and colors. Hope Amelia Stevens (; born July 30, 1981) is an American former soccer goalkeeper. She was a goalkeeper for the United States women's national soccer team from 2000 to 2016, and is a World Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist. Jessica Anne Fishlock (born 14 January 1987) is a Welsh professional footballer and coach who plays as a midfielder for OL Reign and the Wales national team. The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) presents six annual awards to individual players. The NWSL Shield is an annual award given to the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) team with the best regular season record as determined by the NWSL points system. The NWSL Shield has been awarded annually since 2013 and is recognized as a major trophy by the league. Nahomi Kawasumi
is a Japanese footballer who plays for NJ/NY Gotham FC. A full international since 2008, she won gold at the 2011 World Cup as well as silver at the 2012 London Olympics and 2015 World Cup.
