Super League XIX
The 2014 Super League season (known as the First Utility Super League XIX due to sponsorship by First Utility) was the 19th season of rugby league football since the Super League format was introduced in 1996. Fourteen teams competed for the League Leaders' Shield over 27 rounds (including the Magic Weekend in Manchester), after which the highest finishing teams will enter the play-offs to compete for a place in the Grand Final and a chance to win the championship and the Super League Trophy. Teams Super League XIX will be the third and final year of a licensed Super League. Under this system, promotion and relegation between Super League and Championship was abolished, and 14 teams were granted licences subject to certain criteria. For the 2014 season, all fourteen teams from the previous season will compete, although Salford have changed their names from the City Reds to the Red Devils. Tony Puletua
Anthony Puletua (born 25 June 1979), also known by the nickname of "TP", is a former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League. A New Zealand and Samoan international, Puletua previously played for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League competition, primarily as forward. Puletua joined the Hull Kingston Rovers, on loan in 2015 from the Salford Red Devils. He made 13 appearances, scoring one try for the Hull Kingston Rovers, and retired on 18 September 2015. Shannan McPherson
Shannan McPherson (born 12 December 1985 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 2000s and 2010s. McPherson played with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for seven seasons and then played in the UK for three seasons. He played at either front or second row. Early life McPherson was a Souths Junior and played for South Eastern Seagulls growing up. Playing career McPherson rose through the ranks, and in 2005, became part of the South Sydney Rabbitohs full-time squad. McPherson played for South Sydney's feeder club side North Sydney in the 2007 NSWRL premier league grand final against the Parramatta Eels which ended in a 20–15 defeat at Telstra Stadium. On 29 June 2011, it was announced that McPherson had signed a two-year deal with Welsh outfit Crusaders from the 2012 season. Darrell Griffin (born 19 June 1981) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays for the Keighley Cougars in League 1.
