2014 Northern NSW Football Season
The 2014 Northern NSW Football season was the first season under the new competition format in northern New South Wales. The competition consisted of six divisions across the district. The overall premier for the new structure qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other state federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2014. Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is the governing body of soccer in the north of New South Wales, Australia. It is a member of the national governing body, Football Australia. The Federation was established the 9 September 1884 as the Northern District British Football Association. To fall in line with the global football identity, the federation was re-branded to Northern NSW Football on 25 October 2006. Formation On 9 September 1884, the Northern District British Football Association was established. On 25 October 2006, the Northern NSW Football was created due to internal restructuring and re-branding. Broadmeadow Magic Football Club is a soccer club based in Broadmeadow, New South Wales, Broadmeadow a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, Newcastle, Australia. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW. History The club was founded on 9 April 1966 by Macedonian Australians as Newcastle Macedonia FC. Originally formed as a social club to play football together with other Macedonians, it is now a major force in Northern New South Wales' NBN State Football League. The club saw its first action on 20 March 1967 when they travelled to Evans Park (New South Wales), Evans Park to face Cardiff Workers RSL. Belmont Swansea United Football Club, more commonly known as "Belswans" is a semi-professional football club based in Blacksmiths in the Hunter Region, New South Wales. Belmont Swansea United currently competes in the Northern NSW State League Division 1 with teams in First Grade, Reserve Grade, Under 18s, Under 16s, Under 15s, Under 14s and Under 13s. The Northern NSW State League Division 1 is the second tier of football in Northern NSW Football below the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW. Belswans are the 2019 major premiers of the Northern NSW State League Division 1, winning the Grand Final 3–2 against Cooks Hill. Toronto Awaba Football Club are an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Toronto, Newcastle, Australia. The club are currently playing in the fourth tier of Australian soccer, the Northern New South Wales NewFM Football League. The team was relegated from the NBN State Football League at the end of the 2010 season. History Originally formed in 1922 by the then Awaba Cricket Club, the football team was playing on a small ground of literally dug out bush. West Wallsend FC
West Wallsend FC is an association football club based in West Wallsend, New South Wales, Australia. The club is a member of Northern NSW Football in Australia. The club was formed in 1891 by Scottish miners and is the third oldest surviving football club in the Northern Federation, behind Wallsend Red Devils FC (1887) and Adamstown Rosebud FC (1889). History Founded by Scottish miners in 1891 as West Wallsend Athletic FC, they did not compete during the 1895 and 1896 season due to a miners' strike in the district.
