The 2014 New Zealand Grand Prix event for open wheel racing cars was held at Manfeild Autocourse near Feilding on 9 February 2014. It was the fifty-ninth New Zealand Grand Prix and was open to Toyota Racing Series cars. The event was also the third race of the fifth round of the 2014 Toyota Racing Series, the final race of the series. Twenty Tatuus-Toyota cars started the race which was won by Nick Cassidy for the third time in a row, something last achieved by Craig Baird from 1991 to 1993. 2014 Toyota Racing Series
The 2014 Toyota Racing Series was the tenth running of the Toyota Racing Series, the premier open-wheeler motorsport category held in New Zealand. The series, which consists of five meetings of three races, began on 11 January at Teretonga Park in Invercargill and ended on 9 February with the 59th running of the New Zealand Grand Prix, at Manfeild Autocourse in Feilding. Teams and drivers All teams are New-Zealand registered. Race calendar and results The calendar for the series was announced on 4 July 2013, and will be held over five successive weekends in January and February. The series will visit Highlands Motorsport Park for the first time. The Highlands round will be supporting the V8SuperTourer series, whereas the Teretonga and Timaru rounds will be supporting the New Zealand V8s. Damon Leitch
Damon Leitch (born 23 December 1992 in Invercargill) is a New Zealand racing driver. He competed in the Toyota Racing Series from 2011 to 2014. Career Leitch began his racing career in karting when he was six years old. In 2007 he began racing in formula racing series. From 2007 to 2010 he started in the New Zealand Formula Ford championship. His best championship position was a fourth place in 2010. Leitch switch to the Toyota Racing Series in 2011. He started for Victory Motor Racing. A third place was his best result. He concluded the season in eighth position in the championship. He was beaten by his teammate Daniil Kvyat who did not drive the whole season. In 2012 Leitch stayed in the Toyota Racing Series with Victory Motor Racing. The 2015 New Zealand Grand Prix event for open wheel racing cars was held at Manfeild Autocourse near Feilding on 15 February 2015. It was the sixtieth New Zealand Grand Prix and was open to Toyota Racing Series cars. The event was also the third race of the fifth round of the 2015 Toyota Racing Series, the final race of the series. Twenty Tatuus-Toyota cars started the race which was won by 16-year-old Canadian Lance Stroll who became the who became the third teenager in as many years to claim the Grand Prix after Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy. The race was dominated by the M2 Competition outfit, with Arjun Maini taking pole position, Brandon Maïsano the fastest lap and locked out the podium with Stroll winning, Charlie Eastwood second and Maisano third. The 2013 New Zealand Grand Prix event for open wheel racing cars was held at Manfeild Autocourse near Feilding on 10 February 2013. It was the fifty-eighth New Zealand Grand Prix and was open to Toyota Racing Series cars. The event was also the third race of the fifth round of the 2013 Toyota Racing Series, the final race of the series. Twenty Tatuus-Toyota cars started the race which was won by New Zealander Nick Cassidy for the second time in succession, a feat last achieved by Simon Wills who won the race back to back in 1998 and 1999. The M2 Competition team dominated the race, filling all three podium positions. Briton Alex Lynn finished second, 0.7 seconds behind Cassidy. Third was Dutch driver Steijn Schothorst. Brendon Leitch (born 28 November 1995), is a New Zealand motor racing driver. Career Leitch began car racing in the Formula Ford category in 2009, racing in the South Island Formula Ford Championship. The following year, he would contend the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship, with modest results. The following two years would be more successful for Leitch, finishing third in the 2011-12 championship, and second the following season. Following these strong performances, Leitch would contend the Toyota Racing Series for the 2014 season - joining brother Damon. Egor Alekseevich Orudzhev ( rus, Его́р Алексе́евич Ору́джев, p=ɪˈɡor ɐˈrudʐɨf, born 16 October 1995) is a Russian racing driver. Steijn Schothorst (born 14 October 1994) is a Dutch racing driver. His father Jeroen, his brother Pieter and his nephew Bas Schothorst are also active in Dutch motorsport. M2 Competition are a motorsport team based in New Zealand and Belgium. History Founded in 2010, M2 Competition began partaking in the New Zealand-based single-seater championship the Castrol Toyota Racing Series in 2010, with Ivan Lukashevich taking the team's first win at Manfield.
