2014 NBL Finals
The 2014 NBL Finals was the championship series of the 2013–14 NBL season and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. The Perth Wildcats defeated the Adelaide 36ers in three games (2–1) to claim their sixth NBL championship. Wollongong
Wollongong ( ), colloquially referred to as The Gong, is a city located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. The name is believed to originate from the Dharawal language, meaning either 'five islands/clouds', 'ground near water' or 'sound of the sea'. Wollongong lies on the narrow coastal strip between the Illawarra Escarpment and the Pacific Ocean, 85 kilometres (53 miles) south of central Sydney. WIN Entertainment Centre
Wollongong Entertainment Centre (also known by its naming rights sponsor WIN Entertainment Centre and colloquially as the WEC) is a multi-purpose indoor arena, located in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. The WEC opened on 5 September 1998 with a concert by Bob Dylan and Patti Smith; 4,935 people attended the event. Dylan performed at the venue again in 2011, performing to a crowd of 3,214 people, and again in 2018. The arena is 3 minutes walk from the city centre and has hosted a variety of events including Federation Cup tennis, world championship boxing and international musical acts. Every year the WIN Entertainment Centre holds the Wakakirri Story Dance Wollongong heat, Southern Stars and also a variety of concerts and expos. Australian Eastern Daylight Time
Each state and territory of Australia determines whether or not to use daylight saving time (DST). However, during World War I and World War II all states and territories had daylight saving by federal law, under the defence power in section 51 of the constitution. In 1968, Tasmania was the first state since the war to adopt daylight saving. In 1971, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory also adopted daylight saving, while Western Australia and the Northern Territory did not. Oscar Forman
Oscar Forman (born 16 January 1982) is an Australian professional basketball player. He played 17 seasons in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) between 2001 and 2018. Early life Forman was born in Adelaide, South Australia. He attended Unley High School and played for the Sturt Sabres as a junior. He moved to Canberra in 2000 to attend the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and play for their SEABL team. Professional career Forman made his debut in the National Basketball League for the Adelaide 36ers during the 2001–02 season and was a member of the 36ers' championship team as a rookie. In the 2004–05 season, he led the league with a 47% three-point shooting percentage. His final season with the 36ers came in the 2005–06 season. Jesse Wagstaff
Jesse Kendall James Wagstaff (born 30 April 1986) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL). After playing college basketball for the Metro State Roadrunners in the United States, he joined the Wildcats in 2009 and won Rookie of the Year and a championship in his first season in the NBL. He went on to earn NBL Best Sixth Man in 2012 and then won five more championships in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Rotnei Clarke (born July 20, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Scafati Basket of the Italian Serie A2 Basket. He played college basketball for the University of Arkansas and Butler University before beginning his professional career in Australia with the Wollongong Hawks. In his rookie season, he was named the NBL's Most Valuable Player. He went on to play in Belgium and Germany before returning to the Hawks in 2016. James Ennis (basketball)
James Alfred Ennis III (born July 1, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for BC Samara of the VTB United League. He played two years of Division 1 college basketball for Long Beach State, where he became a standout as a senior, earning Big West Player of the Year honors. After being selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the 2013 NBA draft, Ennis moved to Australia and joined the Perth Wildcats. There he won an NBL championship and became a Perth favorite. He returned to the United States in 2014 in pursuit of an NBA contract, and subsequently joined the Miami Heat.
