2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy
The 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 35th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy men's field hockey tournament. It was held between in Bhubaneswar, India. From this year on the tournament began to be held biennially due to the introduction of the Hockey World League, returning to its original format changed in 1980. Germany won the tournament for the tenth time after defeating Pakistan 2–0 in the final. Australia won the third place match by defeating India 2–1. Qualification Alongside the host nation, the top five finishers from the previous edition and the winner of the 2012 Champions Challenge I qualified automatically. Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar (; ) is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Odisha. The region, especially the old town, was historically often depicted as ''Ekamra Kshetra'' (area (''kshetra'') adorned with mango trees (''ekamra'')). 2012 Men's Hockey Champions Challenge I
The 2012 Men's Hockey Champions Challenge was held from 24 November to 2 December 2012 in Quilmes, Argentina. The tournament doubled as the qualifier to the 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy to be held in India as the winner earned an automatic berth to compete. Argentina won the tournament for the third time after defeating Korea 5–0 in the final, earning an automatic berth at the 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy after their absence in the previous four editions. Jacob Thomas Whetton (born 15 June 1991) is an Australian field hockey player who plays as a forward for the Australian national team. Personal life Whetton is from Queensland and considers Brisbane his home town. He was born on 15 June 1991. He lives in Perth, Western Australia. His nickname is Whetty. Club career Whetton plays for the Queensland Blades in the Australian Hockey League where he wears number 21. He played three seasons for the Punjab Warriors in the Hockey India League. Edward "Eddie" Clyve Ockenden (born 3 April 1987) is an Australian field hockey player. He plays in the midfielder and striker positions. He turned professional in 2008 and has played for teams in the Netherlands. He plays club hockey, having competed for a New Zealand team and Hobart, Tasmania side, North West Hobart Graduates (NWG). Tom Boon
Tom Alain Boon (born 25 January 1990) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays as a forward for Léopold and the Belgium national team. He won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics. Club career He started at Royal White Star HC, and after also having played for Bloemendaal, he played four years for the Belgian team Racing Club de Bruxelles. John-John Dohmen
John-John Dominique Dohmen (born 24 January 1988) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays for Orée and the Belgium national team as a midfielder. Biography John-John Dohmen was born in Anderlecht in 1988, and spent his youth in Ittre. He has graduated in ergotherapy. In 2014, he was a candidate for the Centre démocrate humaniste in the Belgian regional elections in Walloon Brabant. Dohmen started playing hockey when he was five years old, and debuted at Royal Léopold Club in Uccle. Sébastien Dockier (born 28 December 1989) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Pinoké. Dockier comes from a real hockey family; not only his father and sister but even aunts and cousins have been playing field hockey. Club career During his youth, he played for Royal Beerschot THC, where he played in the first team until 2014, when he left to play for Dutch club HC Den Bosch. Tanguy Gérald Cosyns (born 29 June 1991) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays as a forward for Racing Club de Bruxelles and the Belgium national team. Club career Tanguy started hockey at 4 years old at Royal Daring. He made his debut in the senior team at 16 while winning the U18 national title in 2009. He then moved to the Waterloo Ducks with whom he won two national titles in 2012 and 2013.
