Louisville Cardinals Men's Soccer
The Louisville Cardinals men's soccer team represents the University of Louisville in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The team presently competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team currently plays in the soccer-specific Lynn Stadium on the campus. Overview Nearly all of the Cardinals success has come in the last ten years of play under the helm of Ken Lolla. The Cardinals first qualified for the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship in 2007, and have appeared in every NCAA Tournament since then except 2015. Their best run came in 2010, where the Cardinals lost in the 2010 College Cup Final to the Akron Zips, 1–0. The 2014 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 56th season of NCAA championship men's college soccer. The regular season began in late August 2014 and continued into November 2014. The season culminated with the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship in December 2014. There are 205 teams in men's Division I competition. The 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer season was the 62nd season of men's varsity soccer in the conference. It marked the arrival of the Louisville Cardinals men's soccer program, who joined the ACC from the American Athletic Conference. The Maryland Terrapins men's soccer program, who were both the defending regular season and tournament champions, departed the conference for the Big Ten Conference. The 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer tournament was the 28th edition of the ACC Men's Soccer Tournament. The tournament decided the Atlantic Coast Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The 2014 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament is the 56th annual edition of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship tournament. The brackets for the tournament were announced on November 17, 2014, with each of the 48 participating teams gaining an invitation through either an automatic or at-large bid determined by the NCAA. The First, Second, Third, and Quarterfinal Rounds were held at college campus sites across the United States determined by seeding and record. The four team College Cup finals tournament were held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina on December 12 and 14, 2014.
