Breaststroke Swimming
Breaststroke is a swimming style in which the swimmer is on their chest and the torso does not rotate. It is the most popular recreational style due to the swimmer's head being out of the water a large portion of the time, and that it can be swum comfortably at slow speeds. In most swimming classes, beginners learn either the breaststroke or the freestyle (front crawl) first. However, at the competitive level, swimming breaststroke at speed requires endurance and strength comparable to other strokes. Some people refer to breaststroke as the "frog" stroke, as the arms and legs move somewhat like a frog swimming in the water. The stroke itself is the slowest of any competitive strokes and is thought to be the oldest of all swimming strokes. Aaron Moores
Aaron Moores (born 16 May 1994) is a British Paralympic swimmer competing in the S14 category, mainly in the backstroke and breaststroke. In 2010 he set a new British record in his class for the 50m breaststroke and after qualifying for the 2012 Summer Paralympics he won a silver medal in the 100 m backstroke. Aaron was awarded his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt at Gracie Barra Frome in Somerset by professor Callum Swift 3rd August 2022. Career history Moores was born in Trowbridge, England in 1994. Moores, who has a learning disability, began swimming at the age of 10. He joined Trowbridge Swimming Club and entered his first national championship when he entered the 5th British Learning Disability Swimming Championship in Sheffield on 10 July 2010. Scott Quin
Scott Quin (born 1 July 1990) is a Scottish parasport swimmer competing in S14, SB14 and SM14 classification events, specialising in the 100m breaststroke. He has won medals at both the IPC Swimming European Championships and the IPC Swimming World Championships. Personal history Quin was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1990. He has Crouzon syndrome and tunnel vision. He attended Willowpark Primary and completed his secondary education at Saltersgate. Sporting career Quin took up swimming in 2000, joining his first swimming club Loanhead Dolphins.
