2014 I-League U19
The 2014 I-League U19 was the sixth season of the Indian I-League U19 competition. The season ran alongside the 2013–14 I-League season. Pune F.C. were defending champions, but were knocked out in zonal stage. Tata Football Academy won the league. The League was played in a new format and had 29 teams contest for top honours in a two-tier run to the title. The five zones include, Kolkata, Mumbai, Shillong, Goa and Rest of India. The four city-named zones engaged themselves in a home-away format with the winner advancing to the final leg was held in Jamshedpur. The Rest of India zone played a single-leg in Jamshedpur that began on 8 April with the Top 2 advancing. On 8 January 2014 Mumbai Tigers U19 pulled out from the tournament. Sporting Clube de Goa, simply known as Sporting Goa (also known by its abbreviation SCG), is an Indian professional football club based in Panaji, in the Indian state of Goa, that competes in Goa Professional League. Bengaluru FC Reserves and Academy, also known as Bengaluru FC B, is Bengaluru FC's most senior youth team, and also acting as a reserve team. It participates in Bangalore Super Division and Reliance Foundation Development League. Bengaluru FC Academy is the youth setup of Bengaluru FC. Its teams participate in Youth League, Junior League and Sub Junior League tournaments. The AIFF Elite Academy is the elite academy of the overall AIFF Academies. Started on 1 February 2013, the Elite Academy was started under a youth development project that was started between the AIFF and FIFA. The Elite Academy is the final frontier for players who train at the AIFF Regional Academies in various parts of India. History In September 2011, it was announced that both the All India Football Federation and FIFA would work together to set up various regional academies and one elite academy in India with the goal to develop footballers in the country.
