2014 Hwaebul Cup
The 2014 Hwaebul Cup was the second edition of the Hwaebul Cup (홰불, ''Torch'') celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. The competition was held between 10 and 28 August 2013, with all matches played at the Yanggakdo Stadium in P'yŏngyang. Hwaebul Cup
The Hwaebul Cup (홰불, ''Torch'') is an annual association football competition in men's domestic football in North Korea, organised by the DPR Korea Football Association. The competition is held for Youth Day, 28 August, one of North Korea's major holidays. Competition format Beginning in July or August, the competition proceeds in two stages. The first stage consists of the teams divided into two groups playing in a single round-robin basis, with the winner and second-place team of each group advancing to the knockout stage consisting of two semi-final matches and a final, which is played on 28 August of each year. Venues All matches are played at one stadium in Pyongyang, which varies year to year. Wolmido Sports Club
The Wŏlmido Sports Club is a North Korean football club affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of North Korea, based in Kimchaek; their home ground is Kimchaek Municipal Stadium, which has a capacity of 30,000. Rimyŏngsu Sports Club () is a North Korean football club, based in Sariwŏn. Despite never winning the DPR Korea League, Rimyŏngsu supplied four players to the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship and five players to the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, more than any other North Korean club. Amnokgang Sports Club is a North Korean multi-sports club. Based in Pyongyang, the club competes in the DPR Korea Premier Football League. History Affiliated with the Ministry of People's Security, it was founded on 19 September 1947. The club is best known for its men's and women's football teams. The men's football team presently plays in the DPR Korea Premier League, and in various domestic cup competitions.
