2014 Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2014 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament began on March 4 and ended with the championship game on Tuesday March 11. First round games were played on the home court of the higher-seeded team. The second round and semifinals were hosted by the No. 1 seed Green Bay, while the highest remaining seed hosted the championship game. All Horizon League schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by 2013–14 Horizon League season record, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records, the top two teams received a bye to the semifinals. Resch Center
The Resch Center is a 10,200-seat multi-purpose arena, in Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, United States built in 2002. It is the home of the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team, the Green Bay Gamblers ice hockey team, and the Green Bay Blizzard indoor football team. The arena also hosts the annual high school girls' volleyball and girls' basketball tournaments for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association under a long-term agreement. It was named for executive Dick Resch of a local office furniture company KI Industries, which holds the arena's naming rights. The arena was built next to the existing Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena and across the street from Lambeau Field on a site formerly home to the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame from 1976 until 2001. Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament
The Horizon League men's basketball conference tournament is held annually at the end of the men's college basketball regular season. The tournament has been played each year since 1980. The winner of the tournament is designated the Horizon League Tournament Champion and receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The finals of the tournament are typically among the first held before the field for the NCAA tournament is announced. History and tournament format Through 2002, the entire tournament was hosted at a single venue.
