2014 Florida Gators Football Team
The 2014 Florida Gators football team represented the University of Florida in the sport of American football during the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Gators competed in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They played their home games at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on the university's campus in Gainesville, Florida. The 2014 season was the Gators' fourth and final season under head coach Will Muschamp. On November 16, following an overtime home loss to South Carolina that eliminated the Gators from the SEC East race, Muschamp was informed that he would not return as Florida's head coach in 2015, but he agreed to coach the final two games of the regular season. Will Muschamp
William Lawrence Muschamp (born August 3, 1971) is an American football coach and former player. He is the co- defensive coordinator and safeties coach at the University of Georgia. He served as head football coach at the University of Florida from 2011 to 2014 and the University of South Carolina from 2016 to 2020. In his second season as defensive coordinator at Auburn, Muschamp was a finalist for the 2007 Broyles Award for the most outstanding assistant coach in college football. Prior to his accepting the job at Florida, the University of Texas announced that Muschamp would eventually succeed Mack Brown as head coach of the Longhorns and designated him the "head coach in waiting." Birmingham Bowl
The Birmingham Bowl is a post-season NCAA-sanctioned Division I FBS college football bowl game played annually in Birmingham, Alabama. First held in 2006, the game is owned and operated by ESPN Events. The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) also provides marketing, management and game-day operations support. The game was previously known as the PapaJohns.com Bowl (2006–2010) and the BBVA Compass Bowl (2011–2014). TicketSmarter signed on as the title sponsor of the 2019 game, making it the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl. Max Garcia
Max Garcia (born November 9, 1991) is an American football guard who is a free agent. He was a team captain at Florida, where he was recognized as second-team all-SEC in 2014. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round, 133rd overall, in the 2015 NFL Draft. Kelvin Taylor
Kelvin Taylor (born September 28, 1993) is an American football running back for the Massachusetts Pirates of the IFL. He played college football at Florida. Early years Taylor attended Glades Day School in Belle Glade, Florida. As a junior, he broke Emmitt Smith's Florida career rushing yards record. Jeff Driskel
Jeffrey Adam Driskel (born April 23, 1993) is an American football quarterback for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida, before transferring to Louisiana Tech, and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Waived by the 49ers, he joined the Cincinnati Bengals, where he was the third string quarterback. He began the 2018 season as backup to Andy Dalton, and following an injury to Dalton, he started the last five games of the season. He then went on to be the backup for the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos, in which he started three games with the Lions and one for the Broncos. 2013 Georgia Southern Eagles Football Team
The 2013 Georgia Southern Eagles football team represented Georgia Southern University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Jeff Monken and played their home games at Paulson Stadium. They were a member of the Southern Conference. The 1979 Florida Gators football team represented the University of Florida during the 1979 NCAA Division I-A football season. The season was Charley Pell's first of six as the head coach of the Florida Gators football team. Pell arrived in Gainesville with a new plan for building the Gators football program—new offensive and defensive schemes, new assistant coaches, a new attitude and new boosters fund-raising model to support the program and improve the stadium and training facilities.
