2014 FIFA World Cup Qualification (inter-confederation Play-offs)
For the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification, there were two scheduled inter-confederation play-offs to determine the final two qualification spots to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Format The four teams from the four confederations (AFC, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, and OFC) were drawn into two ties at the World Cup Preliminary Draw at the Marina da Glória in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 30 July 2011. This was different from previous editions, where the matchups were decided by FIFA beforehand and no draw was held for the inter-confederation play-offs. In each tie, the two teams played a two-legged home-and-away series. The two winners, decided on aggregate score, qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Oribe Peralta
Oribe Peralta Morones (born 12 January 1984) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is an Olympic gold medalist. Peralta began his professional career with Morelia in 2003. He later played for León and Monterrey in 2004 and 2006. Peralta was then sold to Santos Laguna, then loaned out to Chiapas in 2008. After he returned from loan, Peralta was a mainstay with Santos Laguna for the next five years, playing in over 200 matches and scoring over 80 goals. The CONMEBOL, South American Zone of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification saw nine teams competing for #Intercontinental play-off, 4 or 5 berths in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, finals. Brazil national football team, Brazil automatically qualified for the World Cup as the host nation so were not involved in CONMEBOL qualifying. Argentina national football team, Argentina, Colombia national football team, Colombia, Chile national football team, Chile, Ecuador national football team, Ecuador and Uruguay national football team, Uruguay advanced to the World Cup.
