Don Haskins Center
The Don Haskins Center, formerly known as the Special Events Center, is the home of UTEP Miners men's and women's basketball. The venue is located in the heart of El Paso, Texas. In addition to hosting sporting events, the Don Haskins Center is also used by many area schools, such as El Paso Community College, for graduation and commencement ceremonies. Due to its large seating capacity, the center is also the city's premier entertainment venue and has hosted big-name acts such as pop star Shakira's Tour of the Mongoose, Oral Fixation Tour and The Sun Comes Out World Tour, Britney Spears during her The Circus Starring Britney Spears, Circus Tour, comedian George Lopez and rock band Kiss (band), KISS. 2013–14 Conference USA Men's Basketball Season
The 2013–14 Conference USA men's basketball season began with practices in October 2013, followed by the start of the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Preseason Preseason polls C-USA was the only conference not to publish an official preseason poll. However, other publications did publish preseason projections. Although CBS Sports did not rank all the teams, they selected Louisiana Tech as their projected champion and mentioned Southern Miss and UTEP as contenders. Conference USA Men's Basketball Tournament
The Conference USA men's basketball tournament is held annually following the end of the regular season of NCAA Division I Men's Basketball. Format and hosts After the conference realignment, the tournament was held at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee, for five seasons. It moved to the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 2010, and then to El Paso, Texas, at the Don Haskins Center for 2011. It returned to FedExForum in 2012, and was set to be played there in 2013, as well. However, after Memphis' decision to leave Conference USA for what ultimately became the American Athletic Conference in 2013–14, the league decided to move the tournament to a site near a school remaining in the conference, ultimately selecting the BOK Center in Tulsa. The tournament returned to the Haskins Center in El Paso in 2014. In 2015, the tournament moved to Birmingham, Alabama and the Legacy Arena for three years. The 2013–14 Rice Owls men's basketball team represented Rice University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Owls, led by sixth year head coach Ben Braun, played their home games at the Tudor Fieldhouse and were members of Conference USA. The 2013–14 Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball team represented Marshall University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Thundering Herd, led by fourth year head coach Tom Herrion, played their home games at the Cam Henderson Center and were members of Conference USA.
