2014 Catalunya GP2 And GP3 Series Rounds
The 2014 Catalunya GP2 Series round was a pair of motor races held on May 10 and 11, 2014 at the Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló, Spain as part of the GP2 Series. It was the second round of the 2014 season. The race weekend supported the 2014 Spanish Grand Prix. Stéphane Richelmi took pole position in the feature race, but Johnny Cecotto Jr. took the victory, ahead of DAMS' Jolyon Palmer and Carlin driver Felipe Nasr finished third. Tom Dillmann finished in eighth position, and thus started on pole for the sprint race. Nasr took his first GP2 Series win in the sprint race, ahead of Palmer and Dillmann. Circuit De Catalunya
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya () is a motorsport race track in Montmeló, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. With long straights and a variety of corners, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is seen as an all-rounder circuit. The track has stands with a capacity of 140,700. The circuit has FIA Grade 1 license. Until 2013 the track was known only as the ''Circuit de Catalunya'', before a sponsorship deal with Barcelona City Council added Barcelona to the track's title. History The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was built in 1991 and began hosting the Spanish Grand Prix that same year. GP2 Series
The GP2 Series was a form of open wheel motor racing introduced in 2005 following the discontinuation of the long-term Formula One feeder series, Formula 3000. The GP2 format was conceived by Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore, while Ecclestone also has the rights to the name GP1. The series was organized by Bruno Michel. In 2010, the GP3 Series class was launched, as a feeder class for the GP2 series. In 2017, the series was rebranded as the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Designed to make racing affordable for the teams and to make it a better training ground for life in Formula One, GP2 made it mandatory for all of the teams to use the same chassis, engine and tyre supplier so that true driver ability is reflected. ART Grand Prix
ART Grand Prix is a French motor racing team that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. In 2012, it competed in the GP2 Series and GP3 Series as Lotus GP to reflect sponsorship from British sports and racing car manufacturer Lotus. The team competed as Lotus ART in 2011. Corporate history ART Grand Prix was created in 2005 as a collaborative project between Frédéric Vasseur, the principal of ASM Formule 3, and Nicolas Todt, the son of the then Scuderia Ferrari team principal and eventually Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) president Jean Todt. Stoffel Vandoorne
Stoffel Vandoorne (born 26 March 1992) is a Belgian professional racing driver who is currently racing for Dragon Racing in Formula E. He had previously competed in Formula One for McLaren from 2016 to 2018. He is currently a test driver of Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 and McLaren team. Tio Ellinas
Eftihios "Tio" Ellinas (born 27 January 1992 in Larnaca, Cyprus) is a Cypriot race car driver. Ellinas began racing go-karts at the age of seven, and from 2003 - 2009 won 10 kart racing championships in Cyprus, in 2005 winning the ROK Cup International Final. He was the winner of Grand Prix Shootout in the UK in 2009 competing against 50 other top young drivers from all over the world. In 2010, he competed in the MSA Dunlop Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain racing with the JTR Team. Caterham Racing (GP2 Team)
Caterham Racing, formerly EQ8 Caterham Racing and Caterham Team AirAsia was a motor racing team competing in the GP2 Series and GP2 Asia Series. It was created by Tony Fernandes, who was also responsible for the revival of the Lotus name in Formula 1 in 2010 with the creation of the Lotus Racing team. Ómar Julián Leal Covelli, commonly known as Julián Leal, (born May 11, 1990 in Bucaramanga) is a professional racing driver from Colombia. Raffaele "Lello" Marciello (; born 17 December 1994) is a Swiss-born Italian professional racing driver. Stefano Coletti (born 6 April 1989) is a Monégasque professional racing driver who races for SMP Racing in the European Le Mans Series. His sister Alexandra Coletti is an alpine skier.
