2014 Canadian Soccer League Season
The 2014 Canadian Soccer League season was the 17th since its establishment where a total of 20 teams from Ontario took part in the league. The season began on May 24, 2014, and concluded on October 26, 2014. York Region Shooters won their second championship in a 5–4 victory in a penalty shootout over Toronto Croatia in the CSL Championship final held at Esther Shiner Stadium in Toronto. York Region became the second club in the league's history to produce a perfect season, and championship after the Toronto Olympians in the 1999 season. The league's strained relationship with the Canadian Soccer Association continued before the launch of the 2014 season with the CSA expelling the CSL from its membership over alleged violations of rules and regulations in order to make way for a lesser structure in Ontario. Canadian Soccer League
The Canadian Soccer League (CSL; french: Ligue canadienne de soccer — LCS) is a semi-professional league for Canadian soccer clubs primarily located in the province of Ontario, and claims the history of the Canadian National Soccer League (CNSL). It is a Non-FIFA international football, Non-FIFA league previously sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA), but now affiliated with the Soccer Federation of Canada (SFC). As of 2022 Canadian Soccer League season, 2022, it consists of six teams all located in Ontario. The season runs from May to October, with most games played on the weekend followed by a playoff format to determine the overall champion. Kingston, ON
Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada. William Etchu Tabi
William Etchu Tabi (born November 13, 1982) is a Cameroonian former footballer who currently serves as the Skills Development coach for Burlington SC Academy, and head coach for Galaxy FC in the Canadian Academy of Soccer League. Career Etchu Tabi started his career in his native land with Sable FC. In 2001, he went overseas to sign with Argentine giants San Lorenzo. After one season in Turkey with Samsunspor, he traveled to Bosnia and Herzegovina to sign with NK Široki Brijeg. Tabi would have a successful career in Bosnian and Herzegovina and Croatian football. Where he played in the top leagues for both countries. He played for several clubs from these countries most notable with NK Široki Brijeg, HŠK Zrinjski Mostar and HNK Šibenik. Brampton United
Brampton City United FC is a Canadian soccer team, founded in 2002. The team plays in the Lika Supergroup Open Division. The club plays out of Victoria Park Stadium in the community of Brampton, Ontario. The Metro Lions were the second club from Scarborough, Toronto to join the Canadian Professional Soccer League in 2002. In their debut season, the team was an instant threat to the established clubs in the league finishing runners up in their division, and reaching the semi-finals in the postseason. The Lions struggled in their sophomore season, but rebounded the following season. In 2005, the organization merged with the Oakville Soccer Club and Oakville Premier Soccer Academy which resulted in the relocation to Oakville, Ontario under the name Oakville Blue Devils. Milton SC is a Canadian soccer club formed in 2014. The team is currently a member of the Canadian Academy of Soccer League. Their home venue is located at Milton Community Sports Park in the town of Milton, Ontario. History In 2014, professional soccer returned to the town of Milton under a joint effort by Jasmin Halkic and his son Jasmin Halkic Jr. Milton entered the Second Division of the Canadian Soccer League.
