2014 Australian Open – Men's Singles
Stan Wawrinka defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 6–3, 6–2, 3–6, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2014 Australian Open. It was his first Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major title. With the win, Wawrinka became the first man outside the Big Three (tennis), Big Four to win a major since Juan Martín del Potro won the 2009 US Open – Men's singles, 2009 US Open. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of world No. 3 for the first time on 27 January 2014. He has been ranked as high as world No. 3 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals, which he first achieved in March 2020. Tommy Haas
Thomas Mario Haas (; born 3 April 1978) is a German former professional tennis player. He competed on the ATP Tour from 1996 to 2017. After breaking into the world top 100 in 1997, and reaching a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 in May 2002, his career was interrupted by injuries: Haas twice dropped out of the world rankings due to being unable to play for twelve months.
