Convocation Center (University Of Texas At San Antonio)
The Convocation Center is a 4,080-seat multi-purpose arena in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on the Main Campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio. It was built in 1975 and is home to the UTSA Roadrunners men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team. It hosted the Southland Conference men's basketball tournament in 1992 and 2004. It has hosted many concerts, with acts like Bad Company, AC/DC and Black Sabbath. The Convocation Center is often called "The Convo" among the students and athletes of the university. It is also known as the "Historic Convo" and "Bird Cage" to both students and alumni. 2013–14 Incarnate Word Cardinals Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Incarnate Word Cardinals women's basketball team represented the University of the Incarnate Word during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Cardinals were led by first year head coach Kate Henderson, acting as Interim head coach, and played their home games at McDermott Convocation Center. They were new members of the Southland Conference. 2013-14 was year 1 of a 4-year transitional period for Incarnate Word from D2 to D1. During year 1 they only played conference opponents once, with the exception of Abilene Christian. They were classified as a D2 school for scheduling purposes. The Frank and Lucille Sharp Gymnasium is a 1,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Houston, Texas.
