2013–14 SMU Mustangs Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 SMU Mustangs women's basketball team represents Southern Methodist University in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Mustangs play their home games at Curtis Culwell Center and at Moody Coliseum. The 2013–14 season was their first season the Mustangs will participate in the American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs are coached by 23rd year head coach Rhonda Rompola. They finished the season with a record of 18–14 overall, 8–10 in the American Conference play. They lost in the quarterfinals of the 2014 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament to Rutgers. They were invited to the 2014 Women's National Invitation Tournament which they defeat Texas Southern in the first round before losing to Minnesota in the second round. Rhonda Rompola
Rhonda Lee Rompola (born March 9, 1960) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently the head women's basketball coach at SMU Mustangs women's basketball, Southern Methodist University (SMU) from 1991 to 2016. Early life and education Rompola was born and raised in Sayreville, New Jersey. She graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1978. From 1978 to 1980, Rompola played basketball at Old Dominion Monarchs women's basketball, Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, averaging 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists and was part of two Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women, AIAW championship teams. Rompola transferred to SMU Mustangs women's basketball, SMU in Dallas. After redshirting one season per NCAA transfer rules, Rompola played at forward (basketball), forward at SMU from 1981 to 1983. Flower Mound is an incorporated town located in Denton and Tarrant counties in the U.S. state of Texas. Located northwest of Dallas and northeast of Fort Worth adjacent to Grapevine Lake, the town derives its name from a prominent mound located in the center of town. Naaman Forest High School is a public secondary school located in Garland, Texas, United States.
