2013–14 Pepperdine Waves Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Pepperdine Waves women's basketball team represented Pepperdine University in the 2013–14 college basketball season. The Waves, members of the West Coast Conference, were led by new head coach Ryan Weisenberg. The Waves played their home games at the Firestone Fieldhouse on the university campus in Malibu, California. They would finish the season 6–25 and in tenth place in the WCC, but they did advance to the WCC Quarterfinals after pulling a 1st Round upset. Ryan Weisenberg
Ryan Weisenberg (born January 21, 1975) is an American basketball coach who was the head coach of the Pepperdine Waves women's basketball team. Weisenberg attended St. Francis High School, a Catholic high school in La Cañada Flintridge, California, where he lettered in basketball, football, and baseball. Weisenberg attended Azusa Pacific University, receiving a master in education, and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, receiving a Bachelor of Science. Weisenberg began his coaching career in 1995 at Mission Prep High School. Two years later, he spent some time as an assistant coach, video scout, and basketball camp director at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He spent five years as head coach for South Pasadena High School's boy's varsity basketball. After five years at South Pasadena High School, Weisenberg was hired as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks under coach Michael Cooper. The Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies is a public university preparatory secondary school located on 18th Street between La Cienega Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in the Faircrest Heights district of Los Angeles, California, on the former site of Louis Pasteur Middle School. LACES, which serves grades 6 through 12, is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The current principal of LACES is Kimberly Lesure.
