2013–14 Northwestern Wildcats Women's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 Northwestern Wildcats women's basketball team represented Northwestern University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wildcats, led by sixth year head coach Joe McKeown, played their home games at the Welsh-Ryan Arena and were a member of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season with a record of 17–16 overall, 5–11 in Big Ten play for a 3-way tie finish for 8th place. They lost in the first round in the 2014 Big Ten Conference women's basketball tournament to Ohio State. They were invited to the 2014 Women's National Invitation Tournament which they defeated Ball State in the first round, IUPUI in the second round before losing to Indiana in the third round. Joe McKeown
Joseph L. McKeown pronounced Mick-Q-ann (born May 12, 1956), is the head women's basketball coach at Northwestern University. Career He has 600 wins as of November 21, 2014. He won the Atlantic 10 Conference's coach of the year award a record 5 times during his tenure at George Washington, and has also received the same honor once in the Big Ten Conference. McKeown remains George Washington's all-time leading coach in terms of wins and winning percentage. His teams have reached the postseason 19 times, with a 20th postseason trip all but certain in 2020. In the 1991–1992 season, he led the Colonials to a national ranking of 6th, which is the program's highest ranking ever. From 1991 to 1998, the team posted eight consecutive 20 win seasons including 5 Atlantic 10 titles. In 2007, he led the team to a 28–4 record, breaking school records for wins and winning percentage. Wilmette, Illinois
Wilmette is a village in New Trier Township, Cook County, Illinois, United States. Bordering Lake Michigan and Evanston, Illinois, it is located north of Chicago's downtown district. The 2013–14 California Golden Bears women's basketball team will represent University of California, Berkeley during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Golden Bears, led by third year head coach Lindsay Gottlieb, played their home games at the Haas Pavilion and were members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished with a record of 22–10 overall, 13–5 in Pac-12 play for a tie for a second-place finish. They lost in the quarterfinals in the 2014 Pac-12 Conference women's basketball tournament to Washington State. The 2013–14 UNLV Lady Rebels basketball team will represent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The team will be coached by Kathy Olivier, in her sixth year with the Lady Rebels.
