2013–14 New Orleans Privateers Men's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 New Orleans Privateers men's basketball team represented the University of New Orleans during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Privateers were led by third year head coach Mark Slessinger and played their home games at Lakefront Arena. They were new members of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 11–15, 8–10 in Southland play to finish in ninth place. Due to APR penalties, they were ineligible for postseason play, including the Southland Conference tournament. Mark Slessinger
Mark Edward Slessinger (born May 2, 1974) is an American college basketball coach who is the current men's basketball head coach at the University of New Orleans. Under Slessinger, New Orleans has over 160 wins, with two Southland Conference titles and went to the NCAA Tournament twice since his first year in 2011. Early life and education Born in Bloomington, Indiana, Slessinger grew up in nearby Ellettsville and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1992. Slessinger attended Aurora University, where he played both basketball (three seasons) and soccer (four seasons) before graduating with a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1996. Coaching career Early coaching career (1995–2011) While completing his college degree, Slessinger was an assistant coach for Aurora in 1995–96. Hutchinson Community College (HutchCC or HCC) is a public community college in Hutchinson, Kansas, United States. It serves nearly 5,000 credit students every semester. History The college was established in the spring of 1928 as Hutchinson Junior College, and held its first classes that fall. Alexandria Senior High School is a public secondary school located in Alexandria, Louisiana, United States. The school serves about 1,300 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Rapides Parish School Board district. Alexandria Senior High (commonly referred to as "ASH") first opened in fall 1969.
