2013–14 Minnesota Golden Gophers Women's Ice Hockey Season
The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program represented the University of Minnesota during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. Their senior class featured Bethany Brausen, Sarah Davis, Baylee Gillanders and Kelly Terry, compiling a record of 139–17–5. Hannah Brandt, Rachel Bona and Sarah Davis would each reach the 100 point career mark. The Golden Gophers logged the best attendance in NCAA women's hockey with 84,672 fans while setting an NCAA women's hockey record with a power play of 32.7 percent. Starr Rink
J. Howard Starr Rink is a 2,000-seat arena in Hamilton, New York. It opened in 1959 and was the home of the Colgate Raiders men's and women's ice hockey teams until 2016. The arena was dedicated in honor of former head coach John Howard Starr on December 11, 1959. The hockey arena was built as the southern half of the William A. Reid Athletic Center, a twin barrel-vaulted complex which also houses Cotterell Court. The complex is located on the western side of campus next to Andy Kerr Stadium and across Broad Street from Huntington Gymnasium, the school's former athletics facility. Prior to its completion, all Colgate home games were played on open-air surfaces and the lack of available ice caused the men's program to be shuttered from 1951 through 1957. The Minnesota State Mavericks women's hockey ice program represents Minnesota State University, Mankato, and participate in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. History In October 2010, Kathleen Rogan registered a hat trick as the Mavericks defeated No. 6-ranked North Dakota by a 4–2 margin. This was the Mavericks first hat trick since Ashley Young registered one against Bemidji State in 2008. AMSOIL Arena is a multipurpose arena in Duluth, Minnesota, home to the UMD Men's and UMD Women's hockey teams. It opened in 2010, replacing the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center Arena on the waterfront near Duluth's landmark Aerial Lift Bridge. Naming rights for 20 years were purchased by AMSOIL, a corporation based in Superior, Wisconsin, for $6 million, one-third up front.
