The 2013–14 Los Angeles Kings season was the 47th season (46th season of play) for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 5, 1967. The team would advance to the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs and eventually the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals, where they defeated the New York Rangers in five games to win their second Stanley Cup in franchise history. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference (french: Conférence de l'Ouest) is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. Paradise is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Clark County, Nevada, United States, adjacent to the city of Las Vegas. It was formed on December 8, 1950. The 2013–14 New York Rangers season was the franchise's 87th season of play and their 88th season overall. It was the Rangers' first season in the newly-created Metropolitan Division, which was created during the NHL's realignment in the 2013 offseason. The Rangers won 25 road games in the regular season, setting a franchise record. The Rangers returned to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since their championship in the 1993–94 season, losing in five games to the Los Angeles Kings. The 2013–14 Colorado Avalanche season was the 35th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 22, 1979, and 19th season since the franchise relocated to Colorado to start the 1995–96 NHL season. The 2013–14 Anaheim Ducks season was the 21st season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise. Mathieu Garon
Mathieu Carol Garon (born January 9, 1978) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Tampa Bay Lightning between 2000 and 2013. He was drafted 44th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, and was also a member of the 2009 Stanley Cup-winning Pittsburgh Penguins, serving as the backup to Marc-Andre Fleury. Playing career As a youth, Garon played in the 1991 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Rimouski, Quebec. Ben Scrivens
Ben Scrivens (born September 11, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender and current team manager of the University of Denver men's team. He has also played in the NHL for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Montreal Canadiens. Scrivens played four years with the Cornell Big Red of the ECAC. After his senior season, Scrivens was named a first team All-American, ECAC Goaltender of the Year and was one of ten finalists for the Hobey Baker Award. The Stanley Cup (french: La Coupe Stanley) is the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion.
