2013–14 Hertha BSC Season
The 2013–14 Hertha BSC season was the 121st season in club history. Background Hertha won the 2012–13 2. Bundesliga, therefore securing promotion for the 2013–14 Bundesliga. The club's pre-season began on 23 June, with 500 fans showing up to the first pre-season training session. For the season, Hertha signed Hajime Hosogai, Alexander Baumjohann, Sebastian Langkamp, and Johannes van den Bergh. Hertha also brought in on loan Per Ciljan Skjelbred and Tolga Ciğerci. Hertha, Berliner Sport-Club e. V., commonly known as Hertha BSC (), and sometimes referred to as Hertha Berlin, Hertha BSC Berlin, or simply Hertha, is a German professional football club based in the locality of Westend of the borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf of Berlin. Sebastian Langkamp (born 15 January 1988) is a German professional footballer who last played as a defender for Perth Glory in the Australian A-League. His brother Matthias Langkamp is also a professional footballer. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Felix Bastians (born 9 May 1988) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or left-back for 3. Liga club Rot-Weiss Essen. Club career Early career Bastians began his career with SG Wattenscheid 09 and VfL Bochum before moving to Borussia Dortmund. In November 2003 at 15 years old he signed for English club Nottingham Forest. England Bastians spent most of his time in England on the bench. Roman Hubník (; born 6 June 1984) is a retired Czech professional association football, football Defender (association football), defender. His career was connected especially with SK Sigma Olomouc, Sigma Olomouc, FC Viktoria Plzeň, Viktoria Plzeň and Hertha BSC. Shervin Radjabali-Fardi (Persian: شروین رجبعلیفردی; born 17 May 1991) is a German former professional footballer who played as a left-back. Marvin Knoll (born 5 February 1990) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for MSV Duisburg. Career Knoll made his professional debut for Hertha BSC's first team in German second division on 5 December 2010, following injuries to Raffael and Fanol Perdedaj, coming on as a substitute for fellow debutant Alfredo Morales. Alfredo Morales (born May 12, 1990) is a professional soccer player who plays as a defensive midfielder for New York City FC in Major League Soccer.
